Purchased a 2010 PIV with 200 hp Yamaha SHO from Greene Boat and Motor, picked up the boat 2 weeks ago. Not sure what you owned prior, I came over to Bass Cat from Skeeter. No storage space shortage on the PIV, as long as you dont buy out Tackle Warehouse. In addition, both decks provide plenty of room for fishing. Opted for the MK Fortrex trolling motor and it controls the boat well.Oh yeah, the folks (Andy, Mark, and Kim) at Greene Boat and Motor in Spindale, NC are awesome!

Have the same problem with the tach gauge, no light, on PIV & 200 SHO. However, the other gauges have lights.

Guys, Thanks for the information. Some of my colleagues at work fish Seneca each year, but only for lake trout. Thought I might tag along and do some bass fishing, but think Ill opt out and head for Champlain.

Purchased a new PIV w/ 200 SHO in June 2010. To date, boat, motor, trailer, etc. have been functioning beyond expectations. Never heard of the aforementioned warranty disclaimer. Yamaha owners manual for the SHO outboards indicate 87 octane for 200 hp and > 89 for 225 and 250 hp models. However, I am running with 89 and adding Yamaha Ringfree. Did receive a notice from Yamaha to have gaskets in the cowling replaced, other than that no communications from Yamaha. The setup by BCB runs great for me, and the characteristics of the SHO motor described by Flyswatter are spot on!

rbcat, The jack plate is set approximately 1 1/4 inches upward from what would be level with the plate, prop = Yamaha Vmax Series 25 Ti, ventless. To date, the best run is 65 mph (GPS) at 5000 rpm at 75 degress F on fairly flat water. I dont know how much faster she will go, but have to admit Im not the most skilled at working through the chine walk. Im not a tournament fisherman, so running in the 50s is OK for me. Primary purposes for the PIV/200 hp are the confidence to navigate big lakes and also fish smaller lakes and rivers.

Flyswatter, since you started out with a SHO 200 on the Eyra and upgraded to the SHO 250, how did the Eyra with the 200 perform? Will get another CAT soon, will be a choice between Eyra or Puma. Thanks.
