As I mentioned I dont understand electricity at all. Since my first post Ive dis-assembled the plug, cleaned the terminals, tightened the screws but am still shocked when I touch the TM shaft or the on/off switch. Also Im shocked (minor shock – not 36 volts) whether the switch is on or off while standing barefoot on my garage floor. With shoes on Im not shocked so I figured I must be the ground but thats just a guess. The charger is plugged in but Im not shocked from any other metal surfaces. Want to fish tomorrow so Ive got to find the cause today…Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
Because of gchaglers comment I unplugged the battery charger and now theres no shock. What does that tell me? What do I do to fix the shock when the chargers plugged in? Thanks.Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
I think youre right. I called BassCat and theyve never heard of this problem. I did check all the wires to the three TM batteries and cranking battery and there are no cuts/rubs. The problem must be in the charger though I cant figure how current is getting to the metal parts of the boat/engine without a charger wire touching metal somewhere. Ill call the charger manufacturer tomorrow and see if they can shed some light on this issue. Thanks for the replies. My partner and I arrive tomorrow. Will fish the Cystic Fibrosis tournament next Saturday and, hopefully, a tournament the week after put on by the resort owners. Talked with Lou at Hummingbird Hideaway where were staying – he and other resort owners are trying to put together a tournament for BC folks who are in the area. Lou currently believes theres a 75%+ chance that tournament will happen dependent on Corps approval and enough interest from those of us in the area. Arrived in MH this afternoon. Norfork is as high as Ive seen but clearing rapidly; not nearly as muddy as Table Rock with just a few floaters. The color looks very good, particularly in the back of coves/pockets. According to Lou at Hummingbird Hideaway the fishing is awesome. The resort owners and now the Norfork Lake Chamber of Commerce are actively involved with a possible tournament during the OI timeframe. Apparently theres a lot of interest from those of us who made or are making the trip. If you are coming to MH it would be a good idea to let your resort know if you are interested in fishing a tournament so that information can be funneled to the NL Chamber. Lou, who is a Chamber member, will let me know the Corps permit decision as soon as possible and Ill post it here. Thats good news! Spoke with Lou at Hummingbird Hideaway and the Lake Norfork Chamber and the resort owners are pretty excited. The only stumbling block was Corps approval and they received that this morning. Tomorrow the Chamber is meeting to discuss logistics, etc. Looks like there will be a BBQ and some lesser activities for those BassCat folks here or en route. I think BCB is also participating which says a great deal about Rick and company. As Jman mentioned the current plan is for a 100% payback tournament on 20 and 21 May. The launch site has not yet been determined but there are several options. It would be a really good idea to let your resort know if youre coming to MH and intend to fish prior to tomorrows meeting. Started with a 26 Trophy on my 2008 Cougar FTD (250 ProXS). Slow but acceptable holeshot, good top end at 83.9 light load, cool weather. Went to a 26 Fury; better holeshot with 82 top end, light load and cool weather. However the 26 Fury has a terrible hole shot in hot, humid weather but top end remains good at 78-79. Fill the livewell though and it takes forever to get out of the hole. So, just purchased a 25 Fury and the boat leaps out of the hole with a heavy load and full livewells. Top end is down to 77 but I can live with that for the summer months. Cant comment on a 25 Trophy but after my hole shot experience with the 26 Trophy and in your shoes Id only consider a 25 Fury. Interesting that your wires had no connections attached. When I received my lights it was obvious that the plastic package had been previously opened. When the lights didnt work I thought Id been sent defective lights that had been tried and rejected as faulty. After splicing and reversing the connections I just figured that the factory had installed the wrong connection on the wrong wire. Regardless, the mystery was solved and the lights are terrific.Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
Mine doesnt have a bolt there either. Mechanic said thats the way its supposed to be…Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
You simply remove the male plug currently attached to the MotorGuide wire and re-attach it to the wires of the Minn Kota. Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
Bassdeer, havent heard back from Fishrman so I guess the seats are still available. My zip is 65747; UPS can probably tell you shipping costs. The backs weigh 40 pounds. Would just need a UPS lable to your address. Im not sure if your 2012 is rigged like my 2008 but mine was an easy fix, after the not-so-easy first fix. Initially I cut the torn rigging tube at the tear, removed the coupler at the cowling, removed the torn piece of rigging tube from the coupler, screwed the un-torn portion of tube back into the coupler and reinstalled the coupler to the cowling; the rigging tube was good to go for about two years – that was the not-so-easy fix. When the rigging tube tore again I simply cut the tube at the tear, pulled the cut piece of tubing out of the coupler, and then screwed (counter clockwise if memory serves) the un-torn tube back into the coupler using two hands to turn the tube at the coupler and where the tube enters the boat simultaneously (to avoid twisting the tube). Took about three minutes and required no coupler dis-assembly. Three years now with no further problems… Chip ReavesU.S. Army Retired (Aviation)Cougar FTD/250 ProXSShell Knob, MO/Cape Coral,FL
