I have no ideal what kind of boat your running but the Missouri Water Patrol has a pair of 250 Verados on the back of a patrol boat at Lake of the Ozarks and last I heard about 2 years ago was they had 400 hours on them and they havent missed a beat. I still see them out running every time I visit the Lake.

I dont think there is a deck insert for a PIV. It comes with a full deck built in.

I used the screws that come in the flush mount kit from lowrance. They go in from the front which makes it easy install.I used a piece of 3/8″ weather stripping around the unit tomake it water proof.

I would go with rev limiter. I been there done that. Have a prop shop put a little more cup in the prop and it will get off the alarm.

I have the same year Puma and 250 ProXS. I had it 5 years this month and run a 26 Trophy with 2 holes pluged and 2 small hole plugs no blow out ring. If you blow out you need to lower the motor a little.

Yes it extends almost 12″ over the bow and had to be rotated when retracted to put prop out or it would hit the grab post when pulling up on trailer.

Ive only had my Caracal a couple months but what I didnt know is Ive been waiting for this boat for several years. I got my first 20 footer in 1996 (Original Jaguar) and I had a 99 Cougar and a couple Pumas. The 20 ft Bass Cats are awesome boats but I was ready to down size. I just wanted to downsize to something smaller and I didnt want to go all the way back to a Pantera. I had 4 or 5 Panteras and they are great boats but I thought it was to big a change to go all the way back and I loved my Panteras they are what sold me on Bass Cat boats in the first place. Then along comes the Caracal ( WOW ) perfect. Smaller but not to much. It was just what I was waiting for and I love it. It seems to handle rough water as good as all the Cats, as matter of fact if slow down to about 40 it kind of drives it self through the bad stuff. The storage lay out is fun. The center rod locker is perfect, I keep 10 rods in there ready and I don”t have them all over deck. I can get to one there almost as fast as loosening a rod strap. Ive had as many as 12 rods with sleeves in the port rod locker. The Caracal is not about the price, the 20ft Bass Cats and the Caracal are to close in price. its about where you want to be. As I said up front Ive had several Bass Cats and I loved them all and the Caracal is where I wanted to be and i love it.

I have a 2015 Caracal and I used the PowerPole Bracket that they call a braced bracket. Its a 2 pc design that Bass cat uses for 10 ft Blades. The Minn kota Talon will bolt right to it and it clears the ladder and the outboard.
