Bow graph is being transferred to new boat. Ram mount and gps antennas stay.

I had the lower unit serviced and compression checked. Both were excellent. Lower unit pressure and vacuum checked fine. Compression was 110 on 5 cylinders and 115 on one. No wonder she runs so well….

Talons are almost twice the weight of the PP, and all the weight is behind the transom. That is a big deal when you are trying to improve your holeshot.

I have an 1199 on my new Cougar mounted on a 12 inch Balzout. Solid mount and can be folded when you want. Used to use the Ram mount but the Balzout is much better.

I cant imagine the pillow block material lasting that long. Mine has already collapsed and torn on one bunk and has damaged the hull at all four bunk locations so I must be one of the lucky 3. I do have a warranty claim pending and BCB stepped up to replace the bunks, and paying to repair but I will still be without the boat for two weeks while its in the shop. Now I read that the bunks they sent in for replacements may also be a problem. You know, I really appreciate BCB doing this type of research and development, but I hate being a test bed for bunk development. I would really like a better explanation from BCB. Im going to call in tomorrow.

Check out Bassboat Technologies mount. Excellent mount and nice looking as well.

I have found that superglue will work well also. If it is severely loose I will spread it around the hole with a tooth pick and then dust in some baking soda. Makes for some hard threads.

I went from a Fortrex to an MG on my new Cougar and the mount is quiet compared to the creeky Fortrex. Another thing to consider is the added weight of the Fortrex. If youre looking for top speed with the Eyra, than you want to keep the weight off the bow. That includes adding weight with graphs and graph mounts. Every pound up there will cost you speed.

A bridge is your best option. Talk with BCB parts and see if they can help with bridge. Just be sure to seal the mounting screw holes well with marine silicone. I had to do the same thing with an 04 Cougar. Consider the aluminum battery box as well.

If you park the boat on the trailer with the bow much lower than the transom the water will collect at the front of the lid and have a tendency to pool up and overflow into the compartment. My Cougar does the same thing.
