Having the same issue with a 997… Loses depth, but SI keeps on trucking.. Havent isolated the problem yet.. Going to update software to latest version and play with a few settings.. It is terribly annoying..

High 70s is conservative I think.. That boat runs, and looks good doing it.. Chased it around Rayburn all weekend last week.. My old man likes this boat better than my spotless 09 Cougar FTD 250Proxs, but he has turned into a bit of an adrenaline junky in his golden years..

I cant imagine a set of circumstances that would lead to the cylinder end cap completely coming off without direct intervention. The seal doesnt engage unil the last thread seats, so gradual loosening isnt likely without dumping all of your fluid well before the cap fully disengaged.

Yup… Bcb is spot on… Likely a battery or charger issue..But it does raise an interesting question for me ( basically meaning more research required) — With DC power, voltage is additive in series, current additive in parallel… But this is only true when those circuits are closed… Meaning you can tap a single battery in a series configuration for 36v (trolling motor) and get 12v, as long as the 36v circuit is open (trolling motor not in use).. Engaging the trolling motor (36v series circuit) while attempting to start the engine (12v tap circuit) in this configuration would effectively drop starter voltage to 0 since loads must be in parallel ( would effectively be like plugging both positive and negative starter leads to the positive terminal, no potential difference means no current flow).. I know this is a bit askew of traditional thought processes and I am a bit strange, by my own admission, but the end result is that it should be ridiculously easy to configure a bank of solid state relays or simple starter solenoids for that matter to utilize all batteries for trolling, or starting and accessories as required by the flip of a switch.. The challenge is to maintain 12v for accessories while the series circuit is in use.. A resistor bank should do it quite nicely.. Ill play with the math and get back to you chaps..JT

Awww come on guys…. I learned to fish out out of a boat that was WAY more beat up than that old jewel.. That is a perfect boat for a young man with a trolling motor to cut his teeth on.. I hate that my boy is riding all over the place with me at warp speed looking for the easy bite.. If it was closer, Id buy it.. Slap a few batteries and a trolling motor on it and it would be some young mans pride and joy… Talk about learning to fish, limit within range of your trolling motor.. And think about the stories that young man would tell about his first basscat.. Hed never own another brand..

Yup… Lotsa rain up there… My deer lease in Pineland took a pounding… Roads washed out and whatnot…. Full pool is perfect for beaching the boat in the cove my house is in, much below full and ya might as well be driving into a wall… Fresh water will do the lake good! All those decaying bean bushes have sent most of the shallows and coves hypoxic.

Nice.. Love those moments.. Had a few of them myself in the last few years.. I am however proud to report that my 10 year old boy took his first deer this past weekend.. Nice 2-1/2yo cull spike.. Brilliant shot, every foot of 200yds perfet center mass double lung punch with his Sako .243.. We shoot alot together and I was confident he could make a clean shot with no issue.. Drilled him.. Almost as big a smile as when he knocked down his first duck this year.. Great year of firsts for the boy.. He is determined to boat a 5lber+ before Christmas so the Cougar is gonna get a workout over the next few months..
