For sure the break in is crucial, I was wonder what everyone else had the JACKPLATE set at and what I could expect to see out of it in the near future. Speed hole shot fuel economy ect.
Thanks, Ive owned a nitro for the last 12 years, just a 17fter not as fast and handled a lot different. I am getting my seat time in now with the break in. I am at the point where I can run any speed now except wide open throttle in limited to under 5 mins. Got it to 71 and the chine walk was uncontrollably, havent learned the boat enough to control it well yet. Thought about raising the plate up and see if that helps?
Thanks thats a good read, what set up are you running? Has it help with the chine?
I have a 2016 p2 with a Yamaha sho 200, I hit 73.4 today with a full tank, gear and a passenger. It has a25p shomax prop. I am 3.75 below pad. I know it has more I am still adjusting.i would think you all should be well over 70mph? Does the sho make that much difference?
I love my p2 so far. It drives and fishes great. Mine is quick out of the hole and mid range and top end is awesome. With the sho it lifts the nose as far as you want it to go, I cant trim it all the wayup or it starts to chine. That Yamaha will fly the nose high. I usually bring it up on pad and keep trimming in small bumps until I feel it starting to get loose and there is where she performs. I can run 73+mph with a buddy, full tank of gas and all my gear. Wind ,temperature, ect all effects the performance, running in the wind sometimes I am only able to hit 69mph. Ive seen on here guys hitting 77mph with the p2s. Theses boat are performers and I love the way they fish!
Thanks, mines didnt have the hardware for the windshield. Ill call and see if they will send some my way tomorrow.
I have a 25 pitch great hole shot and topping out at 73.4 so far 1/4 above flush on the Jackplate. I think the fastest speed recorded on here with the p2 was on a 26p fury on a 200 sho @ 77mph. Id prolly stay with that prop.
Thanks guys, the light is a great ideal!
I have a 2016 p2 I am 3 hours away thou, if your ever near Hazard Kentucky Ill take you out in my boat dont care abit just message me
That light would come in handy, Ill have to put one in mine.
Mine has 13-15 Hours on it now , the oil level is at the top of the full mark and smells like gas. I am going to change it. I think a little gas has seeped in.How far up on the dip stick was yours when it made oil? Ill prolly just run the regular oil for at least the first 100 hours then.
Thats what I am going with, thanks
These motors aint cheap, just want to make sure its done the right way.
I will run what they recommend for sure, rednggoo I see you have put some hull stickers on your boat. They are $25. Was that a piece or a pair. Just ordered them, But it didnt specify if that was per sticker or pair? If not a set Ill have to order another sticker.
