I called Three Oaks this morning and they were once again booked. Ill try the other places suggested and then hit the lodging list Bass Cat sent me. I have a buddy of mine (also a Bass Cat owner) for a partner now so the “Quest” for lodging is on.

Ill second Rockwall Marine. Ive owned two Cats and Tommy and his team are the only ones I trust with my Cat. I drive past several boat dealers on my way out to Tommys place.

I was just out on the Sears Website and the series 31 was $265.99 and the series 34 was $208.99 how did you get the series 31 battery for $216? I want one if I can get it at that price. Local Sears has it for $279.99.

Will the Cul M Rite Pro Pak III charge the Sears series 31 Platinum battery w/o problems? I was planning on putting one of these battereis in this weekend to replace a Cabelas AGM that only lasted a year.

I ordered a step box to replace my third seat and last weekend I pop riveted it on using the rivets BCB supplied with the box. Drilled out the old ones and used a cheap hand riveter to rivet in the new setp box. Looks great!

Wow! Thanks for doing the research cb2structural!So i wonder if I could still use the Cul M Rite charger but after the Cul M Rite is finished charging unplug the Cul M Rite and top off the Sears battery with a 15 amp battery charger? My boat is a 2005 model Cougar but my charger went bad a few years ago and I replaced it with another Cul M Rite as they offered me a good price and I would not have to drill new holes. I wonder if there is a serial number or something on the charger to tell its age.

Thanks for the clarification BCB. I really did not want to have to shell out another almost $400 for a new charger. I installed the Sears battery this past weekend. Well see how it goes.

It is a 2005 Cougar FTD. It has two identical 26 gallon tanks.

Still need help. I dont really think I missed a step at least not if my owners manual has the correct instructions. Now there could be something missing from the owners manual. It wouldnt be the first time somethig like that happened.

I have a 2005 Cougar with a 36v Motorguide and a 225 Merc. Opti Max motor. I only have three batteries and I have had some trouble if the starting battery has a problem. I had two different Cabela’s series 24 and both failed to start my big motor within a year of purchase. This was first thing in the morning on a cold morning. The trolling motor worked fine all day so the reserve capacity must have been fine just not the cold cranking amps. Finally I went out and bought a Sears Die Hard Platinum 34 as a starting/third trolling motor battery and that seems to have solved my problems. My other two batteries are wet cell Interstate series 29 batteries. These can last all day.I have a friend that swears 4 batteries is the way to go. If the Sears fails early on me I might just go that route.
