Hello, Im the new basscat owner.Picked this boat up a couple weeks ago in Missouri. Its a 97 Classic…I am now the third owner…second owner owned it since 1999.Boat is in excellent condition. Still has the original carpet and seats and trolling motor. Carpet is perfect, no stains burns or fraying. Seats are also in near perfect condition, just needed conditioned. Boat has the deck extension/filler that must have came ordered that way because the carpet is a perfect match. Trailer is also very nice, no fading or rust any where. Motor is a 150XR6 that was rebuilt do to ethanol issues in 2011.Contacted the mechanic and he said the only original parts left in that motor is the block and crank…everything was replaced.I was able to test drive this boat at tablerock lake. Nice ride, winds were blowing about 18mph so it was a good test. The boat did not have gps when I test drove it, I think the electronics might have been from 97 as well. I took it out to a main part of the lake, kicked it up to 35 to get a feel for awhile and it felt comfortable. After cruising I decided to put the hammer down, it set me back in the seat and in a instant the speedo said 65 and I backed off. Im not used to that kind of speed. I sold my 2006 Reata 1850 a year and a half ago for sons college funds. That boat was lucky to break 40. I am extremely excited to be a part of the basscat deal. I have been doing a lot of reading about the customer service, quality and all of the innovation that has lead the industry for many years.I refurbish corporate aircraft here in Nebraska and when we get a call from customers needing help, most of the time that call goes to a technician on the floor. I called basscat with a question I had and low and behold I was directed to a guy out in the shop that said he has been with the company since the early 90s…I thought that was awesome.Ice off should happen this week here around Lincoln, hope to get out and play around with this boat.

The 97 Classic I bought came with a nice black basscat cavas cover. Im a bit confused on how the straps are routed at the back. Curious if anyone would have any pictures of one installed that shows how the straps are installed.

Thanks for the reply. I think I have it figured out but Im going to do some modifications to it. Its a nice cover that was barely used but I think an upgrade is in the near future. I travel north numerous times a year so good travel cover is a must.

When I sold my last boat to a buyer out of state with a bank check I had him give me the check number and name of bank. Googled the bank phone number, called them and verified the check was legit.

How about mounting a new plate by match drilling the existing holes from the old mount. Then mount the new charger to the new plate.New holes would be in the plate not the transom.
