This exact same thing happened to me in August this year. I got on to the Cul-m-rite website and posted a question pretty much the same as yours. Rick Stanfield got back to me via e-mail the next day and said that he would ship one out to me. I had it in less than a week. They will need your serial # and if you have a remote display or not. I put the old one in the box and shipped it back to him. Here is the company info if you want to call.AFT INC.6802 W.Banff Ln.Peoria, AZ 85381623-486-6663 ph623-486-6667 fxI was very pleased with the fast response and hassle free solution to my problem. Rick seems like a stand up guy. We all know that things will break or malfunction on a boat and it is great to deal with a company that stands behind there product. I saw very quickly why Bass Cat uses this companies product. I hope your experience will be as pleasant as mine.Tony
I just peeled mine up. They are glued to the floor. It didnt take but a couple of minutes to remove them. I prefer the boxes without the tackle storage. I can fit more plano 3700s in them this way.
Thanks for the reply. Ill be talking to you tomorrow. What phone number should I call and whom shall I speek to? I also hope the bike rider recovers. I havent slept much in the past two days. The whole incident keeps playing back in my head. I can only imagine what the guy on the bike is going through. Think of him in your prayers. Im sure he needs all the help he can get. Tony
Cabelas should give you a new reel or refund for 1 year from the date of purchase. They have great customer service. I use them quite often because of this. Give them a call. I returned a Diawa Fuego reel almost a year after the purchase date and they sent me a new one.
NJ is a no fault state so the fastest and easiest way to handle a claim is through my insurance. My insurance will go after the other insurance company for reimbursement. The repair has already been started and my insurance company sent me a check today. The only problem is that it is short by around $4500. I have put a claim in with the other insurance company to recover this money but it may take several months if they cover it at all. I may have to take the driver of the motorcycle to court to recover the money but that remains to be seen. Bottom line is that $4500 will come out of my pocket now. It is a raw deal but I want the boat back in the water by June. Tony
My boat insurance is who I put the claim through. I did not have the trailer insured for nearly enough. I read a post a few days ago here asking about how much to insure a trailer for. My advise is $5000 to $6000 on the trailer depending on extras and also an additional $1000 to $1500 for shipping. My mistake was insuring it only for the purchase price. I did not take into account the fact that I got a good deal on the entire boat package and shipping costs on a new trailer. I dont blame my insurance company. The man driving the motorcycle drunk is the one to blame here. His insurance company is dragging there feet as expected and I dont even know if he has enough coverage to pay for the damage. All I want to do is get back on the water. Everything else should work itself out in time. Tony
Before you replace the carpet, scrub it down with a vinegar / water solution. This may get the carpet looking like new again.
Thanks BCB for the quick response. I will follow your instructions. The problem is definately not the tow vehicle. I tried both of my vehicles and got the same results. The trailer running lights will flash for a breif second and than the fuse under the hood of both tow vehicles will blow.Ill post my results when I find the problem. Thanks…Tony PS Mark 5795, I just got back from Maine and had a great trip. I fished Cobbossee, Webber, China, Long Pond,Anabessacook, and Unity. Caught a 5 1/2 lb largemouth on China and too many 3 pounders to count. I stay at Castle Island Camp on Long Pond and trailer the boat to different lakes through out the trip. I also have a brother that lives in Unity and my dad lives in Albion. I try to get to Maine a few times each season. Its a beautiful state with great fishing and no fishing pressure. I live in southern NJ where you are fishing with 30 boats in a few hundred acre pond on the weekends so Maine is like a breath of fresh air.
Thanks. In the front it will go. Great pic. Looks like the perfect spot.
I just installed my new unit on the bow and put the puck to the left of the trolling motor (2 feet from the unit) as many have. I went out this weekend and it kept dropping the satallite signal. I also put down a waypoint and when I returned to it I was 150 feet off. I went home and did some research on the web. I did a master reset but that didnt fix the problem. I removed the puck and moved it 4 feet from my unit and my signal was fixed. I picked up twice as many satallites. When I move the puck closer to the unit I start dropping satallites. I am going to mount the puck at the rear of the boat next to the air intake vent opposite the one in the dash. Now I have to cover the hole in the front that I already drilled. Does anyone know if any of the boat stores make anything to go over a hole that looks decent ? Tony
