Much like Ward, I didnt have much to say at first, nor did I really think anything needed to be said. Anyone who knew him personally knew how special he was, and how special Judy is. Gary was the closest thing to family there is. He was closer to my father then he probably ever knew. He was humble. He was generous with both his time and his efforts, as was Judy in allowing us all to be a part of the big guys life; thank you for sharing him with us. Gary Gould is so much a part of what makes the Bass Cat family more then a friendship. Irreplaceable. Those last few conversations will be cherished.Ryder Pierce

There is definitely some interesting concepts. I imagine the most useful new lure is the strike king 8.0. I know last fall I couldnt find a mid range square bill anywhere. I did some serious research looking for one.

Yall are a tough crowd. Its funny, Norfork looked like Rayburn at sunrise in 15 MPH wind yesterday. Dont worry Doug Ive already hung my head concerning that. I need to get out and find my own stuff now. Baby bird is leaving the proverbial nest. For those who havent ran the Caracal, its hard to explain, you just have to experience it. She handles phenomenal. I was shown first hand the importance of driver ability in speed. Dad was able to get an extra 2 MPH out of her then I was despite multiple passes and coaching. Boat drivers/owners GROSSLY under-estimate how much one boat can vary due to ability. Getting shown up that bad by your old man is humbling in your own boat!

Try a small Minnow type Jerkbait on light line. I use a Lucky Craft Pointer SP 65 in the Ghost Minnow color if clarity is decent. $12 bait, but well worth it. I kinda stumbled into it this summer. Im about too switch the front hook for the second time this summer because its broke.

This is awesome! I was wondering what happened to Mark. One too many guys have competed at the highest level and are more or less written off for more popular names, only to show up and remind people how they got to the biggest stage of bass fishing in the first place. Good for him. Im sure theres a lot of younger guys his name doesnt resonate with.

I can speak for the Raymarine units. I have an A98&A78 in the dash, & an A78 on the bow. Once I got used to the operating system, Ive been very happy with them. They are all touchscreen models & work well in all conditions. The amount of things they can do amazes me. Ive had a few tour level anglers very impressed with the DI capabilities. I think it speaks volumes that James Niggemyer qualified for the classic this year without SI. My SI modem is on order. Hopefully I will be able I give a better review once that is in.

Dont let that fool you. Overall it was a rough weekend on Big Sam. Many people zeroed or caught very little. A lot of those zeroes have won major tournaments this time of the year. This rising water has everything spread out. It was won on an Alabama Rig in a community hole. I wish theyd outlaw those darned things down here! They havent been a threat until recent.

Zack is a good guy who loves what he does. Its hard to argue hes started one of the more impressive rookie campaigns in a while. What makes Zack so good is his ability to catch fish a lake his way. He fishes to his strengths really well.

I think its a reminder to always wear your life jacket. Some of the best boat drivers in the world have had close calls. It blows my mind how many of these college age fisherman wont put one on for a short trip if they are just out with their buddies.

Awesome week for Seth. It sure would have been nice to see him pull this off. Like he told Dave Mercer, it would allow him to make a career out of this. Lucky for him, Mille Lacs is his wheelhouse. After seeing how calm and collected he was this past weekend when faced with a career changing moment, you cant help but think he will be the man to beat this week on Mille Lacs. Hes not even practicing today. Thats confidence.
