Chris, I had my best tournament in my club this year. Caught a 7.1 at Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville, TN last week. Had a total of 13.1 for a win. Had big fish for tournament and big fish in the club for the year. Nice way to finish the year. Also likely my last tournament in my club as I plan to move to Nashville in the next few months. The guys in my club are very special friends who mean a great deal to me. I have no interest in fishing tournaments (other than my club). We dont keep any fish. We are strictly a paper weigh club. We are inhibited by slots nor size limits (12″ are keepers). The rewards for winning are bragging rights not the $10 for a win. But competition is quite fierce. I will truly miss the Backlashers Bass Club, over 30 years old. Looking forward to coming back to Toledo Bend in March. Bill Hawkins Memphis, TN

Our club uses a 3lb weight (exact wt. pipe with a hookeye) We weigh with electronic scales and calibrate on the 3lb wt at weigh in every tournament. We subtract or add ounces depending on calibration. The problem with measuring inches is that we see 12″ fish that weigh 1.5 lbs and 14″ fish that barely weigh a pound. Our system works really well for us. Bill Hawkins

Is this rain suit as heavy as BPS 100mph gear or as warm? Bill

My rain suit came in yesterday, 3 days after I ordered it. I am more than happy with it. It exceeded my expectations. Almost makes me want to go out in this 20 degree weather. Preparing for our annual trip to Toledo Bend in early March. Usually pretty good weather then but it can turn nasty. This year I will be prepared. Last year the worst weather we encountered was in MAY at Lake Guntersville. It snowed, sleeted, rained with the wind howling. We were not prepared for that. Tried it on last night and my wife of 49 years and 6 months said I looked like a large redbird, emphasis on large.

Had the same problem (same unit) about 3 weeks ago. Quit working during middle of the day. Came home, tried all the resets. Still didnt lock on. Then suddenly it did. Have no idea what went wrong or what went right. But it has worked well since. Bill

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in Jan 2008 at age 70. After considering the various options I chose the DaVinci surgery for prostate removal. This is an amazing robotic machine with 6 probes inserted in the abdomen and operated by a skilled surgeon at a console. This is much less invasive than a conventional radical surgery. Recovery time is dramatically quicker. I continue with PSA tests biannually to be certain no cells escaped. I highly recommend DaVinci. My surgery was in Memphis. If you have questions I will be happy to reply. Bill Hawkins
