Thanks for the reply. This is my 2nd Cat and I absolutly love it. I would have started posting on the forum years ago when I bought my 1st BassCat, a 1990 PII, but Im not real good with computers. I finally got it figured out. I have been in love with the 1st generation Eyras since I 1st saw pics of them. Always wanted one but they are almost impossible to find for sale. I stumbled upon this one and had to have it. These boats are truly a big part of BassCat and bass boat history period. The boat that paved the way for current boats built today. It amazes me how that 18 boat is laid out like a 20 or 21
Ill do that jignpig. Its a sweet looking boat. White hull with a black boot, Black bolt with red accents! Will try to post pics and also put some on the Owners gallery page. I have a 175 EFI and the boat flies!
will do. You will definately be hearing more from me.
Thanks for the reply. I was trying to compare to some of the other early model Eyras for help on it and just noticed that most ran the Tempest and Trophy propellers. Also the bow gets a little loose at speed but am able to drive through that. That was one reason I was looking at maybe a 4 blade Trophy. I will definately look into the Fury.
Sounds like what Im lookin for. Bring the rpms down a bit and get a little faster holeshot. The majority of the holeshot issue is due to the damaged prop. The search for the Fury begins! Thanks for the help!
Sounds good. Thanks for the help!
Alan I also have an older Eyra (1994). The previous owner must have added a rod system in the locker. I can fit 19 rods, with 76″ rods fitting with no problems. Maybe I can get some pics up of my rig. Ive owned it for 2 years now. Its probably time I do so!
Thanks Alan. Like I said, just curiosity and boredom was getting to me the other day. I may look into it a bit more.
Looks great Doug! Amazing work!
Great read! I wish I could have K Pink come fish with me on my home river!
Yep it was pretty neat to see that footage! And yes I did notice you were really giving that stickbait a workout! I cant imagine that there were any of those 361 Rangers able to keep up with that Eyra you were running! I own a 1994 Eyra myself and I have to say that those first Eyras really had the styling and floor plan way ahead of its time, much like the new Eyras(and speed too). Thanks for the reply and thank you for building such great boats!
Congrats on the 1st trip of the year. You mustve been on the Fox. My brother lives in DePere. We fish the river for smallies though and usually do quite well above the dam there. Hope you can get something figured out with your trolling motor situation.
I like the different venues on the schedule. The LaCrosse tournament is on the same weekend that it was this year and should have a 5 fish limit. Im clueless about the Sabine River, isnt that a major tributary on Toledo Bend or am I mixed up?
