Thats the same cover I think I have. It has a draw string also. I just tilt my motor up and run it thru above the tilt cylinders and cinch up the draw string where the steering is. I went ahead and cut both end of draw string and straps to fit. They were much too long. Hope this helps. Ive just had my 2001 about 1 1/2 months. The front space on deck is phenomenal, storage is more than I ever dreamed of having. Float was sticking on the auto bilge but got it figured out after talking with Scott. Exceptional customer service. The front hole is clear, I think probably the small diameter welding wire idea may possibly work. It is definitely up in the hose going thru the gearbox. I run in different kinds of water but am a little facetious about having things work is at all possible even though their not really needed. I trust the GPS a whole lot more than the speedo. What are the main differences of the Fury, Trophy, and Tempest props? Im running a 25p Trophy plus on a P3 w/ 200 EFI at 5800 rpm. Ive thought about getting a Tempest but dont know about the Fury.
