How long has this been for sale? Had any lookers?
Thanks for all of the advice. I have had a Optimax for the past several years and had no problems. I really like the looks and sound of the E-tech. thought I might give it a try but havent talked to anyone that has run one. I dont really care about top speed because I never open it up anyway. 60 mph is fast enough for me. I do want a quick hole shot though.
I had a friend that put premium gas in his mercury 150 and it quit on him and when the mechanic took it apart he asked if he had been running premium fuel and he said “yes he had” and the mechanic told him he had burnt it up. The cylinder got too hot and fried it. So it may be true about high octane gas. I only use 87 octane in my 225 Optimax. I know my friend always used high octane gas thinking it would make the engine run better but look what happened.
I just added one in my dash that doesnt have a external antenna and it works great. Cant tell the difference.
The colors are hull-white, hull insert-blueberry, cap-blueberry, cap insert-white, trim stripe-carmine red, boot-blueberry, seat-marble, seat insert-white, seat trim- navy. E-tech 250HO to match.
MIKE is right on this one. Those light weight shields just dont stay on and protect as good. I once used a Keel Guard (brand name), put it on myself. looked really good and lasted about a year before it started coming apart. It separated from the backing that was attached to the boat and left a real mess. It was under warranty so I sent it back, what a mess getting the old guard off. I put the new one on and it also came apart after about a year. Do what Mike says, have the dealer put you on a Hambys, you wont regret it. Well worth the extra money.
The mess I was relating to was that the glue from the keel guard stuck to the bottom of the boat and the guard pealed off. It took me several hours of hard scrubbing with acetone to get that mess off. I dont beach my boat either except at Sam Rayburn because there are no docks. I would highly recommend that you get the Hambys, you wont regret it.
I owe it all to you Mr. Lott. Thanks again
Thanks for the invite. I would love to fish Stillhouse. I have never been to any of central Texas lakes and I hear some of them are really good. Dont know when I could do it but will try to accommodate. I live about 3 hours away. I do 90% of my fishing on Conroe and about 10% on Sam Rayburn & Toledo Bend. Take good care of my Cougar when you take her out. Ill let you know when Im coming to get the Cougar and maybe you can meet me at Texas Boats.
The symptoms you describe are exactly what happened to me and I almost never figured it out. You may have a collapsed liner on the inside of your fuel line. This has happened to me and after replacing fuel line everything worked great. If the liner has collapsed it may not be easy to see if it occurred somewhere in the middle and wouldnt be visible. I did the same thing you did as far as changing filters, pumping the bulb, etc. Nothing I did worked until I changed the fuel line.
I have had a Humminbird 797 SI installed in the dash for several months. The internal antenna works great. I cant believe BCB hasnt heard of the internal antenna they have been around for about 18 months at least, I like it because there is no HOCKEY PUCK sitting on the deck.
Thats a good price, buy it if you want to save a $100.00. I really enjoy mine. I bought it directly from Humminbird at http://www.humminbird.com. They also have everything you need to hook it up and dont forget, the side imaging doesnt work above 10 MPH, you need a high speed transducer and switch to use the unit at high speed. By the way I pulled out my Lowrance 332c and replaced it with the Humminbird. WOW what a difference. The Humminbird is far superior to the Lowrance. All I can say is Go for it.
bubcraw on the boats for sale has one that looks good.
You can buy one at Amazon.com Put 504-1200-1 in the search area and it comes up. It cost $129.56 plus shipping for the 48″. It is sold by ATAFA what ever that is and it is called Innovativelight LED powerlight. The add doesnt say how short it is when retracted. They also have a 60″ light.
WOW what a beautiful little girl. you are really blessed.
