Well I wasent sure about buying a Bass Cat I dont see many of them around. But the more research I do to more I think its one of the best boats on the water.

I live and fish in central Indiana with a trip up around the Hayward/Cable WI are every year for a couple weeks. I wont be doing much tubing just slower speeds once in a while. The outboard is an Optimax 200 EFI but I am not sure of the year. They said the compression was within specs. It better be with 82 hours on it.

Thanks guys. The boat is sweet. The motor isnt quite rite. When i take off is boggs at 1800 rpm for a bit then take off. When it does catch look out. GPS says 62mph with wife and two kids. The boat rides great. I need to fix a few things. My water pressre gauge doesnt work. I have a good stream coming out the back but nothing on the guage. It has deck lights that I want to get working. Other than that everything works great and the first time out was a blast. Only issue I had was trying to get her to plain out with the troling motor down. Well second time out and the motor died and wouldnt restart. So its off to the shop. I wish Bass Cat built a motor.

I feel you pain. My wife wants one on the back of my 97 Pantera II. I have thought about just getting a rope ladder or something that hangs over the side. If I could find an OEM for a 97 I would use it but I havent been able to find one.

Yes it came from a dealer. They did a compresson test and all is/was well. Mid 90s across all 6. I am going to go pick it up after work tomorrow. It cost me 300.00 for them to tell me its junk and I am out of cash now. Single income in a family of four so it will be a while before I can save up enough cash to get it checked out someplace else. I have been fixing my own cars and trucks so maybe I will try and figure out how to fix my own boat.

Well I had it out on the lake and we got ready to head in. It was warm because we had moved to a couple different spots that evening. I ran it about 1800 rpms for a bit and then opend it up. It hit 3000 rpms and died. After that it would restart but the you tried to go it wouild die. You could rev it in nutral but i didnt take it past about 1500. As soon as you put it back in gear and tried to take off it would die. After about the 3d or 4th time it died and wouldnt restart. The same dealer that sold me the boat is telling me its bad.
