The mount holes will line up- when looking at the front of the motor take off the left hand cover on the mount and there is holes under it to fit the motorguide holes. I swapped mine out and worked perfect.
mossboss Will you contact me via email I am interested in your prop. ]
Boat has the stock jackplate and 26 fury. And yes it is overtrimmed but makes for some cool pics I think.
73.8 is my best speed so far I figure it will improve as the water and air cools down. Two guys and full load it runs 72 and some change. As for the setup it is a 26 fury set 1/4 above flush on the jackplate.
I just got a 27 a45 tempest to try will let you know numbers this weekend.74 and some change seems to be the wall on my p2
I have a like new 26 tempest I would sell or trade for a 25 fury. The tempest is perfect and I will get pics if needed. You can email me at ]
Andy I also switched from motorguide to minnkota fortrex and the mg holes will work if you are in the front of fortrex remove the left side cover plate on the minkota mount and there is holes ,works like a champ.
Guys I have owned four boats in the last 20 years one being a p4 and have never bumped the front cross brace until the p2. Maybe I am to deep but all the boats have loaded fine up until recently the p2 started hitting the brace . I think I read where some sabre owners had to mount a roller at the front cross brace. Maybe have to look at that option because I dont think the boat can get on the trailer if I go any shallower with the trailer.
The ones with the recessed line tie are some of the later ones. They are still pre repala and a real pain if you run certain line snaps. Storm only made that style for maybe a year.
My guess is that two of your bolts are hidden under the side plate cover . You can only see two of my bolt heads on my fortrex
I have owned both and each one has good traits. The P4 will outride the P2 hands down no comparison that being said the P4 feels bulky compared to the P2 like a dually truck compared to a car. Im sure some will argue and this is just my opinon. I prefer the P2 layout especially in a daul console model the P2 consoles are not as wide and give more room to pass through.I would take the P2 all around having owned both but I dont fish lakes such as Erie or other lakes were you lose sight of land which a p4 would excel in for a 19 foot boat.
Does your classic have a factory jackplate? If it does use short screws and mount the skimmer transducer on the lower part of your jackplate. I mounted a skimmer on one side and structure scan on the other side of the jackplate. No holes in boat that way .Just be careful drilling and with your screws. The plate is thick enough and I have had good luck this way. When I say the lower part I mean the flat braces on the lower transom.
Heres mine it has worked great for me.
