Is the prop still available?
Where can these medium size plugs be purchased? And how do you remove the old ones?
I bought a used PIII 6 months ago and love it,however im trying to find the correct set up.Prop and engine height. How did you have your P3 set up?Ive tried both a 25p trophy and tempest
Cajun,I have the same rig,a 2000 PIII.I have a flippin deck on mine it comes back to the console has a hinged lid over the open space in front of the console,a large lift up storage that is not a dry storage but a good place for a cooler or life jackets or whatever you want to put in there. It is completely enclosed just not a dry storage,it makes the deck on this rig “HUGE” Enjoy your P3! Goin out in mine tomorrow ! I have a picture of it,just not sure how to post it on here.
I have a 2000 Pantera III and I have the buckets in my rig, they are very comfortable and hold you in place at speed.I agree with Shap I have no problem with water in the underseat storage, mine has the rubber groumeting around the openings.Plus they give the boat a great appearance.
Shap, A HUGE THANK YOU! Especially for the detailed pictures this answers my question.Just couldnt get the hinge position right. No problem now. Like I had said the previous owner had installed the new seats and did a great job however he installed the back part of the center seat incorrectly so it was useless as a step. Thanks Again!
Cajun,I have the same rig, same year with a 200 Optimax,I had been playing around with two different props both 25p.one four blade one three blade, both of which are Mercury props .I was experiencing a slow holeshot when I first bought the boat and it had the 4blade trophy on it,I switched to the 3blade Tempest prop and the holeshot problem was no longer an issue.I really perfer the 4 blade over the 3blade,its just a more neutral feel for the way the boat performs, bowlift is great and the steering torque is minimal.I posted something similar to yours about two months ago.BCB recommended a 24p tempest for this rig,I know that you have an Evinrude so Im not sure if the pitch would be any different,I guess alot also has to do with your setup.Have you ever measured you engine height off pad?Im running mine 31/4″below pad with a 6″jackplate.I think most guys with this rig are running a similar setup. The one other thing with the merc props is that you can tune the venting by changing the size or removing the PVS plugs.Mostly you will just have to experiment and find what works best for you.I might try that 25p 4 blade renagade that you have it should be alot better than the Raker, and then go from there. Good Luck!
Mocatt,What prop and pitch are you running.also what kind of top end speed are you getting from it? Thanks
I have a trophy plus on the boat now,so Im familiar with the vent holes, these are just round drilled holes near the bottom of the prop blades. The Trophy and Tempest Plus props have the holes inbetween each blade, and the holes are recessed so the PVS plugs are flush in the prop, looks like this was a garage project possibly, must have been a good drill bit and press to do so because they are drilled pretty darn good.Im really not interested in filling these.Anyone interested in this prop???.Its like new, theres not a mark on it.25p
SWIMBAITS SWIMBAITS SWIMBAITS, Senkos, jigs, and lipless cranks, the Luckycraft LV500s work well there, typical shad and craw paterns. Did i mention SWIMBAITS! In my opinion Clearlake is the very best big bass pond in the country, the Cal-Delta is a close second. I might be partial to these two being I live in Northern California! As far as guides go check out western bass.com,go to the reports page for northern California, then click on Clearlake. There will be links to guides there.Have fun.
Sorry to hear the fishing was so tough there Chris.I didnt think they allowed anyone to fish anything other than a swimbaits on that lake. I live in Nor.Cal and the weather up here has been cold and raining and the fishing has been really tough. There is a video out right now called the BIG BAIT POSSE,and all they do is throw big swimabits all day long and are catching GIANTS at Casitas, its amazing just how many big fish are caught out of that lake.A few hours north of Casitas is Lake Don Pedro, and just a few days ago a guide down there had a client out and they caught 2 over 8lbs. and one over 9lbs. on swimbaits in one day! This place has really kicked out some huge bass the last couple of years. There are a couple of guides on this lake that are BCB owners and are very good sticks there. You can look them up on Western Bass.Com If you go to the photo section on this site you can view the pics of the hawgs taken out of Don Pedro.Sorry to hear about your luck down there. At least you had the opportunity to go after a big girl at Casitas.Maybe if you get the chance to come back to California look up one of these guys at Don Pedro,or better yet if you travel farther to Nor-Cal,the Cal Delta or Clearlake are awesome. Take care.
Firfighter,I have a 2000 PIII with a 200opti,I run my motor 3-1/4″below pad,I do run a 25p temptest with two large pvs plugs and 1 small hole plug.I run a heavy boat,Im 240lbs,and with two people and gear mine comes out of the hole quickly, and will run 69 on the gps,Check your motor height first.Like BCB stated the 24p fury might be a better prop for your rig.You have to play around with the height and prop venting until you find the right setup.Good Luck
I have a 2000 PIII for sale for 15k,however I live in California. This boat is in excellent condition.200 Opti.Lowrance LCX38.and LCX28 color sonar/gps units.Just had a 100 hour service done,Minnkota MaxPro 80 T/M 3 bank charger. Hot foot throttle, upgraded bucket seats from the original bench.flippin deck insert that matches carpet.Single console, tandem trailer, good tires, all new trailer suspension all from BCB 1 year ago. This is a really nice rig, only selling it to buy a new Cougar FTD.
I will send them this evening
I have a 2000 P3 with a 200 opti on it,Im currenty running a 25p tempest plus,I also have been thinking about trying the Fury, would I also go to a 24p.I have heard that with some setups dropping a pitch with that prop works best.
