The best time to fish Newton to me is the end of march or the first couple weeks of April. I hope you know that the maxium horsepower for the lake is 25. this time of year have crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs with you. both arms are good, the hot water arm is the east arm. If your taking your cat you will most likely stay in the cold water arm, head north to the first big pocket on the left. Keepers must be 18 inches. Good luck at newton and have fun with the new cat.

If you like Newton then you need to come down state a little more to Cedar Lake or Lake of Egypt.

I really like the 5/16 oz Swimmin Viper my favorite colors are Crappie Special and Watermelon candy. They look amazing coming through the water with a speed craw as a trailer!!
