Like others have stated, plenty of room without the drop in tray. Mite even could modify it to make it somewhat useful. I went the old route, built a bracket and hung both on the rear seat post.

the Emory cloth trick will help, I have done the same, only in an airplane.I went with balz mount on boat, been very very pleased with it.Another opinionGene
