my boat is doing something similar. 2000 merc 200 on it, carberated v6. it cavitates really bad out of the hole, but once it get it up it runs awesome but has lost some of the top end. the mechanic says everything is good in the motor, is this a jackplate issue? this is a new problem and i have had my boat for about three years, never had anything like this before. george
i got 470th! i got a $10 walmart gift card
where do you get these plugs at? my prop has all 4 removed from it. it used to get up on plane like nothing and get into the low 70s but now it has major prop slip when i coming out of the hole. it is a 2000 200hp merc v6 on a 2000 pantera classic. my prop is a quicksilver laser2 23p.
matt newman has an awesome boat, just what you are looking for. i think it is listed on the westernbass.com classified section. tell him george sent you.
man, wish i could put it on my pantera classic. should sell it soon if not already.
which way will i have a substantial boost in performance? with the old school 200 or the brand new 175 opti?
my motor is beyond repair, it cannot be rebuilt. i have shopped around for different brands but i cant find anything yet that can even come close to the price of merc, not here in so cal at least. i am just curious because of how gas is now, i am a fisherman on a budget and less at the pump is better, especially for all of the tournaments that i fish. i want a 200 just because it is a 200, but i wouldnt be disapointed in a 175 at all. actually i really dont care which i get, but if there is a big enough difference in performance than i am going to get a 200. and as for resale value and that stuff, im not really worried about it. my cat is staying in the family. when i can get a new cat i am going to “hand me down” this one to a nephew or little cousin. shoot, my dad is begging me to get a new boat so he can have this one. it is my first “big boat” i have owned and would like to keep it in the family. thanks for the help so far guys.
the valve opens and closes when i move the lever, it just doesnt seem to close all the way and water comes in. i can reach down inside and push it all the way closed but this is a hassle. what do you think now? the rubber piece? the cable clip? the valve? switch assembly?
