Deke,
Are you sure about that price for the TD Tony Bean smallmouth rod? I just checked and I have a retired one hanging on my garage wall that is a 9 out of 10.(if I scruubed up the handle 9.5) Am I sitting on a gold mine?

Hi, Ill sight a couple of differences and Im sure other people will chime in with others. Probably most noticeably will be the hole shot. The P III is a bit more sluggish out of the whole than the P II. However, I feel this leads to the second difference between the two. The P III is a better rough water ride than the P II. I owned a 95 P II and a 99 P III and enjoyed both of them. Which ever you pick Im sure you will be happy with it as they are both the best 19 foot bass boats built. Hope this helps.john

You might want to look at this guy. http://www.shut-up-and-fish.com/ I just bought a 998c si from him for $1750.00 shipped. He gets good reviews on the TFF. Since he received my check yesterday, hes called me and emailed me about my order and today I got the Fed Ex tracking link. Hope this helps.john

Hi, I owned a 1999 P IV w/a 200 Opti (2.5l ) for 9 yrs. and I now own a 2008 P IV w/a 200 Opti (3.0 l). I guess that the first thing that comes to mind would be the hole shot. The P IVs hole shot is very impressive w/a 25 Trophy and will flat knock your socks off with a Fury! I think that there would be no comparison to the hole shot of a P III.The layout is great, and the net holder is something youll wonder how you lived without. I do miss the day box on the P III,, but I guess on the P IV its just a lot bigger. Top end may drop 1-2 mph depending on load. Rough water ride is as good if not better than the P III. Although, I havent been in a lot of rough water since Ive owned the P IV. All in all I would say that you would be pleased with the move. Im sure others will come on with their opinions. I hope this helps!good fishing, john

Hi, I had the same problem with my 2008 P IV. I solved it by buying a few of these guys ( http://www.stickjacket.com) and putting the long rods in the bottom of the rod locker. It works great! I believe BassCat sells something similar. I think bending rod eyes, even the flexible ones isnt a good option. Good luck in your search.john

I dont know if they can be pulled by a winch or not (though I suspect it is possible). But, I know they wont stop a thief with a battery operated sawzall! This happened in a guys driveway in a subdivision. I think that loud BassCat alarm would have woke somebody up! The snows coming so I guess Ill go out to the garage and wipe down my cat for the 20th time since she was parked for the season on Nov. 1st. I cant wait until March!! Have a good day.john
