Im 61, been running boats 40 years. Yes it was trimmed all the way up. My measurements is 2.75″ And it tried to chine walk alot

Today, I fished all day, Put my 1st limit in the new boat, 13lbs, still a limit & caught by 11:42am. Having said that, with a full livewell, I very little bow lift at all, and she would turn only 4200 rpms. Im beginning to think the 25″ Tempest is to much prop for this boat. My Mercury is an 2004 150 XR6, and I had it on a Ranger 361. It would turn 5600rpms and run 62.3mph.I would think the Margay should be comparable to the 25 year Ranger, being the Ranger was a bit heavier. I did lower my engine down 1/2″ yesterday.Are the Margays that weight sensitive?

I have a 2014 Margay with a 150 XR6 running 64mph, wot at 5200. Have a 4blade Solas HR Titan 23″ but I still have nose plow at low speeds. I guessing you need to raise your jackplate to 3″ below pad. I had a 25″Tempest on this boat at 1st but never could run enough rpms.

With the 4blade need very little trim

Whats your height for the prop shaft? And I assume the motor is on a Jack Plate
