Well I got to take it out finally, rode great In some fairly rough water, I did get some fairly bad chine walking around 65 mph, probably mostly to do with my driving, this is my first high performance bass boat, I did raise the jackplate an 1/8th inch, gonna try again tomorrow!

Thank you guys for all your advice, I guess I jumped the gun on raising the plate, but I took it out and it ran about the same, so I guess I may leave it there for the next few trips and just see if I can get use to it before adjusting back down to flush, one last question, I just got the motor broke in on the initial two hours, and I can’t hold it wide open for the time being, so these next 8 I’m not really so worried about going wide open for more than five minutes, but something that brought concern to me, was when I crank the engine and it fires, there is a big puff of smoke, it runs fine, idles great, and I don’t notice anymore smoke, only when I crank it, and it does have me concerned

That’s what I was using, but like I said, it busted and I was going to have to buy another, someone told me I didn’t really need one, which was hard for me to believe. I did order the tote rite wendsday evening
