That is correct. I do not want jag. Too big. I did talk to Ivan today and he answered many question to help me. Him and Rick although its been years ago I met them and picked up my p4. I am glad they are finished now in compartments. I love the light bar. Also love the new radiant colors. I was looking at lime on these other brands. I called the locust grove dealer Ivan gave me which its called Gibson bait so guess a bait store that sells some boats also. No answer or returned call today so I guess they were closed. Maybe they will call tomorrow and has someone that has a 2013 puma ftd they can show me and take me out for test spin. Plus I will get quote on a loaded puma ftd and see how they all compare. Figure pro and cons to all and make a decision. Dealer is huge so we will see how that goes also.

Yes I am doing home work. I looked back and my P4 was a 2004 model. I would not want carpet either so that smooth finish is great. As far as BCB goes I have been to factory and met both Rick and Ivan I guess in 04. Had a p3 before the p4. Been out of fishing since about 2007. Had a z19 then. I am looking at Bass Cat mainly because they are a great company. I know they build a great product no doubt. Hopefully I get a call today from this Gibson bait shop that is the dealer of Bass Cats and see how it goes. Rick and Ivan have always been great. Hopefully I get a call from this place and I can quote one then hopefully they have someone that has one that is a 2013 or 2014. We will see. Not many down our way these days. Then I can walk through it and see how I like the layout. If I have too I will call up Rick or Ivan and see if they have one if necessary and may have to drive to Mountain Home but I hope not because really dont have 11 hours to do it. Thanks for input. I do know what you mean by plastic though. One other brand I know is loaded in plastic and one of these boats has some plastic. More than I like and I dropped it from the list.

No not on this boat it will not. Most boats yes but this one is so fast with this motor that it satisfies most people because performance. That is my opinion!!

I had the first model when they first came out and sold my p3 to get one. Nice boat. Be nice with the same light bar and side like cougar ftd or Erya. After riding in a cougar ftd I really like the cougar ftd layout and deck better. If a new version came out though on the p4 id look at it hard though. I like 19 ft boats.

I bought a new Ecodiesel also and now have 3000 miles on it in about a month. It is very nice and first Dodge I have had. Always thought Dodge was junk from what I heard. I am averaging 26.8 mpg mixed driving city and hyw with 4×4. I get 20 towing but I have small aluminum bass boat. I will say it is incredible and it is very quite and smooth ride. I drove all the new ones from GMC to Chevy to Ford to Tundra. It was the nicest to me but all were real close. I chose it mainly for the fuel mileage and hope it is good and doesnt have issues. So far it is good but too early. I put on 30k plus a year and only plan on keeping it a year maybe little longer then trade it for new smaller truck if they come back with the smaller trucks with smaller diesel. Or better v6 that gets better fuel. Between Tacoma, Ranger , Colorado, Canyon or Frontier when they come out with the new models next year if they ride good and great fuel too and can tow 5k then id rather still have a smaller truck for my garage and just parking and stuff. I dont think they will get as good as fuel as this one but maybe close. it is amazing. I think many of the smaller ones next year will get a 2.5 or 3.2 diesel in them getting 30 mpg.

I just sold my 2014 rt178 with 75. The ranger rt178 is very stable. Fishes good too. Had a fortex 80 on it and no issues if fishing mostly small waters. It would fish beaver fine too. I did sell it after a year and either going to a glass rig again and fish some bigger lakes and tournaments again or if I decide not too will look at rt188 with 115. Glass fishes better in wind no question. Tin much cheaper and easier to tow. Unload and load glass probably easier because wind blowing trying to load can be difficult. Cost of having the two if smaller lakes is no question the tin. Id suggest ranger rt178 with 70 Yamaha 4 stroke for what u r fishing and u would be real happy and save a lot. If you were still wanting to go fishing sometimes to bigger lakes or tournament sometimes keep the p2. Im looking at a new caracal or used cougar ftd. Waiting to see caracal in person.

just got a chance to look at the ftd Sabre in person. Found a used one to look at. I think I am still going to try swinging for the Caracal if I can get the $$ right because this is going to be last boat and with swing tongue will still fit in my garage. Plus the wider deck when crappie fishing would come in handy. Dealer said that he had one coming and they started on his last week so dont know how long from then to get the boat so I can eye it in person. Plus see if I like the color scheme he chose for the boat. Thanks guys!! As ugly as those new G2 Rudes are I still wouldnt mind getting that motor for the steering and some other good fitures for my wife which cannot run hot foot and hates it. that motor you can switch one to other with hit of a button so I can still have a hot foot. If I go that way Id have to find a different dealer for the ones in my state are only Merc and Yamaha. Guess ill wait first and see it hopefully real soon.

Bass Cat Boats wrote:Oh! And the next direction will surprise everyone! My guess is with the high dollar boats and everyone still wanting a nice ride that we see a new Sabre FTD with wider front deck. Only makes since for all of us who really want a great bat that can fish big waters and small waters and still do 65 plus and have storage and space. May be wrong but seems to me that cost is really playing havic on many of us. I will say whatever it is i am sure it will be elite!! Or i got one. What if Bass Cat purchases either the Champion molds and name brand.. Now that would be a shocker!!Last edited by monte1 on October 21st, 2014, 12:34 am, edited 1 time in total.

well come to find out I looked at a Sabre. Not Sabre ftd. I did watch video on Sabre ftd. Cant really tell how much it rocks at rest fishing or room on deck. I can tell it is much smaller than the Ranger 118c. I see someone posted they Ranger 118c which I have road in says the Sabre ftd will be dryer ride. I know it is faster boat due to size alone being 18 1 apposed to 18 8 and weight difference. Only thing is I am worried about is room on front deck and stability at rest. Also is live wells big enough on this rig? Looking back at the Ranger 361 it was 88 in beam and this is 93 beam. It was 17 10 this is 18 1. Not sure width to front deck difference on the 361 series to this rig but any insight please let me know. I am going to look at the Caracal when it arrives at dealer and after seeing it may spend for it??? I know I am really only going to be fishing smaller lakes most the time and the Navigational channel too. Yes I will fish the big lakes time to time but not often. So really thinking the Caracal may be a lot of money and boat for what most the use needed is for me. I loved my older 361 I had and liked my older ranger 188 which is same as 118c but I did not like it would only run mid 50s loaded and might hit 60 with luck with a 150. Plus I like the idea of a lighter easier to handle boat in the garage as I get older and go a lot just in the evening or mornings by myself on some of these small lakes. Speed really isnt factor when I think about it but like the fun of a good hole shot and when I do fish a tournament being able to run in mid 60s loaded. Does anyone have a similar situation and have you went to a sabre ftd and thought it was too small? I really like the storage length and that it is a premium model with all the good stuff on it. If anyone has one near NE Okla let me know id love to ride in it and drop the trolling motor. Like I said I will be looking at the Caracal still in next few weeks when it arrives but after thinking hard on it im leaning this way if the boat has enough room and stabile. I sold my rt 178 ranger that was good and was really going to go with the rt 188 and decided this is my last boat maybe I will get another glass. The rt series is real roomy.

Thanks. As much as I like the caracal size and light rail I think with what everyone says that the saber ftd really would be my best choice for my use then. Would u order one with tandem axle trailer or single. I know its smaller boat and probably dont need a tandem for this size boat because never had one on the 361 I had years ago but would it make it nicer or not being a big boat not that big of difference. I do wish the sabre had the light bars and same top cap as the other ftd models but thats just a looks thing but its sharp. I know Ill order a ladder. Would a power pole work good on this boat? I really appreciate all the help. This should be my last boat so want to get it right.
