IMO those little inline breakers are pure junk and prone to failure. Take them all out and install a single Bussman Hi-Amp 50amp waterproof breaker if running a Motorguide. Minn Kota calls for a 60amp. Install the breaker right before the + enters the first battery.

Please explain exactly what you mean by the “bow/hull settle in.” What should I look for?
Sweet pics. Do you have your console graph mounted on the rail?
maybe I am still too deep. The ramp I have been launching from is very flat. So flat that the back wheels of the truck are in the water and I am stepping out from the truck into the water. Regarding the trailer, the top of trailer wheels are at the water line and the long bunks are out of the water about a foot. I am afraid of putting the trailer too shallow at that ramp and hitting the crossmembers. Any and all advice appreciated especially those who have used very flat ramps.
Any hopes of adding any unstructured hats in the future? I just dont like the fit of structured hats.
any idea how much the winch step is?
Joey wrote: My bump board came with a plastic sleeve that is as long as it. I took some 3M double side tape and stuck it on the side of the box between the the box and my driver seat(parallel). Need a long sleeve so it doesnt tear the vinyl. Works great and is right by the wells. Plus you dont have to cut a slot.I like your idea. What bump board do you have that comes with a full sleeve? Does the sleeve rub the seats when you lift the box up? I was thinking about taping a bump board to the inside of the box so you would have to flip up the box to pull out the bump board. Keep the ideas coming.
Patrick, I just sent you a message about my Sabre. It is a 2008 w/Merc150 only 15 hrs and in absolute mint condition. Let me know if interested.
Mike, I just sent you a message. Im interested in one of your wrapped windshields.
I want to put a 6″ slidemaster. Can these be put on only using only the 4 original bolts? I do not want to drill two more holes in the transom.
My only concern would be carbon. Outboards produce the most carbon at idle speeds. Odds are it is a good running motor. Compression test would be my best advice.
Dressed up the bow of my Sabre with a Fortrex and 858c Ram mounted. I guess even the ole fat man is worried about ethanol bc he got me a fuel line kit too.
Here is a pic of a 858 I RAM mounted on my Sabre. I used the Humminbird adapter for the base so the bolt pattern would match from the 700 series I replaced and the regular size arm to get the unit up clear of the gunnel. I also used the GPS puck plate attached to the back of the RAM mount so I didnt have to drill for the puck. Cant wait to get it on the water.Last edited by psj706 on December 31st, 2012, 1:01 am, edited 1 time in total.
I just got done converting to a MK Fortrex. I redrilled the mount instead of the boat using the same four holes from the MG. MK says it is ok to use four hole so that would be ok as it is rock solid with only the 4. I found it easier to silcone the washers to the aluminum backing plate a day prior to the install so I would only have to worry about getting the nuts on. My best advice is to reach as far back in the hole as you can…then reach further. No doubt it was a challenge and I arms are not small. Best bet would be to find someone with long skinny arms though.
