Thats what happen to me ! My Tach quit working and before i knew it the stator went . Cost was 1300.00 for both regulators and stator . Like i posted earlier my machanic told me to unhook one of my battery cables. Because leaving the battery hookup there is residual power to the regulators and causes them to go bad. I just got me a blade disconnect to put on my battery when not in use. Hope this solves my problem.Last edited by scbasscatowner on October 7th, 2012, 11:21 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks for all the advice. This has been so frustrating these past few weeks trying to figure out the problem . I was able to take the boat to the mechanic today for him to look at. Even him seems to be puzzled by the way the gauge is acting . Just a question to you guys,The banana bayonet blade switch is on the Ground side if the battery should it be on the positive side instead ? or does it matter as long as the circuit is broken to the motor. Thanks
I love my NOCO genius charger I have the three bank one . I got mine at Amazon .com for 150.00 this past summer I dont think you will go wrong with that choice.
I just bought one from BBG Marine last night . I just got an email with a tracking number . I purchased the elite 7 HDI unit for 699.00 . Hope this will be a great unit.
Just got my new lowrance elite 7 hdi from BBG Marine. Talking about customer service WOW . I orderd this unit two nights ago and its here already . Thats with standard shipping no overnight and Im in South carolina . If you have or havent delt with BBG Marine they are a great online store. This is my first time with them and i give them 5 stars. I will let you guys know how this unit works since alot of you are wanting a feed back…
I would start with checking all my breakers or fuses and master control switch. Im sure BCB will direct you the right way..
cb2structural I just had the same exact thing on my battery . I would not recommend it though !I went and orderd a perko on off switch from west Marine I think its under fourty bucks . They are also ignition protected .
Cb youre correct the blade switch is no good get the perko on-off switch . It will kill everything Don at European marine in Greenville sc sells them and thats what he recommends.
So does all these new graphs ( Lowrance , Hummingbird etc.. ) loose bottom readings at any speeds ? If so what good are they ? I want to know what depths Im running in especially when lake levels are low. Im kinda new to this technolgy.
I would check to see why the tach is not working . My tach went out and it was bad volt regulators .y machanic told me the tach works off of the regulators. So have that checked out..
