thanks for the quick replies and info. thats good enough.
thanks, i was impressed with the memory also, but thanks so much for sticking with it and getting those e-mails to me. appreciate it greatly. and hopefully will be part of this fine group by the end of the weekend. looking at one and if it runs like it looks, will be like a kid in a candy store. thanks again.
have a feeling will have lots of questions. “drive it like i stole it”- still wondering if i did or if there is something i missed. really hoping i just got a great deal. thanks again.
this gentleman responded to my post. got to speak to him today and he asked if i would let others know if i had the chance so here it is:——————————————————————————–i have 92 panteraII for sale. its a very clean boat with all the toys garmin GPS, dual flashers, flippin deck, jack plate, 95 evinrude vindicator 200hp. complete Vans overhaul 2yrs. ago. I had the boat twice last year and once this year. I just dont have time anymore. jellcoat is still good and shiny and everything works good. im in centeral Michigan and the price is 8000.00 or best offer.ph. no. 989-560-2554
just got mine a couple of weeks ago, out twice, came out of a heavier boat style with a 115, this blew me away. what size motor does yours have? mine started walking on me at 63 (gps). gotta to learn how to drive a better performing rig. keep informed on your learning curve as it may help some of us others. would greatly appreciate it. was thinking about a jackplate myself if would help stabilize it on the top end. did that stop and jump out the hole, myself.
just noticed your up the road. ever come east to lake claiborne? open water in front of the dam. ill race ya (just a joke, not a serious challenge).
thanks for the input, will see if raising motor helps first and yes it did feel like 2 foot slide. wanting to get most out of it since i got it (wife said i reached my second childhood, just a boat instead of new car and dying my hair). looking forward to getting it right. thanks again.
someone showed me today how to measure that 3 and 1/2 inches below the pad (apparently just a starting point) mine is a tad over 5 inches under the pad. would have to take my motor off anyway to raise it so decided to go ahead with a manual jackplate here (since it will be off anyway). just been up jeams bayou and big green break, bet them poles come a lot faster now huh? i should even be able to run to the texas side now and not worry “to much” if the wind kicks up.
sorry, am i not thinking of the same thing, called a service person and the suggested adjusting the tab. what did i do wrong and is that like a “temp” fix (what i did)? it took the torque off of the wheel. will i need to end up putting it back to where it was. of course, i will answer no more questions after this.It is very rare that the torque tab on the engine removes torque. We have many times taken them off to prove they are not functional on a Mercury engine. The individual never knew we removed them and often though we had adjusted them. They are functional on a Evinrude or Johnson. They are not on a Yamaha. BCB
thats what i was hoping for too, to get some ideas and learn some stuff, ill try to get all my questions in before the game starts and beverages start flowing.
hey chris, this isnt “one of the guys” but called Lad to see if we needed to pick anything up, he said to call his cell 318-446-0423 if you get bored or have time tonight and he would patch you in through the house phone so you could talk to everyone. sorry not able to meet ya this year, but if you are ever up in northwest la. (bistineau, darbonne, red river out of clarks, caddo, claiborne) look me up. Terry
