Those are pretty good numbers and we are unaware of a P4 being run with a Fury propeller.
Im currently running a (slightly modified)26p Trophy, with a good holeshot, and top end is o.k., but as soon as i can get my hands on a Fury ill let you know how it does ! D.
Whenever I switched from a 27 Trophy on my 250 Pro XS to a Fury, I went with a 26 pitch and it was a perfect match for my rig. So you need to go with a 25 pitch and Im sure it would be right. You didnt mention what rig you are running. If its one of the 20 footers, I would go with a 26 pitch. For as set up. Im very close on the transom as where the trophy was. Performance with the Fury is much better than the Trophy. You want be disappointed. Glynn
I am running a Cougar also. So I would go with a 26?
I have a 225ProXS.
As you stated, youre rigged with a 225. You could run a 26 with one person or a light load with two persons. I think I would have to go with a 25 pitch . This way, no matter what the load, your 225 will not experience load fatigue. (Results, a loss in performance.) Just my .02 Glynn
Thanks for the reply, BCB do you agree?
We think that will depend on the power of your rig. It will be either a 25 or a 26 and there is not a certain pitch there. We would go 25 on a 225 Standard Opti, and 26 on a Pro XS to try them. Engine height will need to be altered some, once you get to tweaking it in.
I have run a 26 Fury on My 2006 Cougar FTD/225 ProXS combo. I carry a pretty heavy load, and it seems to be sensitive to weight more than my Trophy. It planes and accelerates like a 25 Trophy, and I have seen over 76.2 running on fumes. When I carry 15-25 gallons of fuel, 74 is a real stretch. These are summer temps in TX. When I added my 280 pound Dad, I could only get 69. That is the first time I could not break 70 in my boat. With a worked 26 Trophy, I have run my boat and with me 2 other big fellas, and a big load at 73. I think a light boat will really perform with the Fury, but in my experience, the Trophy seems more consistant when loaded. The Fury will put your boat in the bed of your truck, so if loading your rig is a problem, try a Fury for sure. My rig turns the 26 Fury to 5600-5700 rpm.
We do feel the Fury is a very good propeller selection for most of these set ups, though there are exceptions and preferences.
That is the one 26P Fury. The holeshot is much better than the 27 Trophy and midrange is incredible. You can also put the boat in the bed of the truck if you are not careful while loading on the trailer. It will require a tad bit more driver input at WOT but still very managable. Overall, I think you will be very pleased with it. I wouldnt expect it to be that much faster on top than what the 27 Trophy is though. Thanks guys, Ill let you know what shakes after I have had time to run it.
Tried a Fury 26P on my 2007 Puma with the Mercury 250 Pro XS and with 2 people 32 gallons of fuel and tackle we ran in the Mid 70s, this was on a slick lake, very little chop. Hole shot was good but mid range was awesome, I really think youll like it.
Does anyone have a source other than Merc to purchase these props?
Not sure where you are located but your local Merc dealer would be your best bet. There is also a prop shop at Lake Fork that might have one Steve is his name and if you need his number let me know and I will round it up. JL
