Sorry if that came out that I was blaming mercury or trying to slam them. My fury prop has been amazing. I have no scratches or have not hit anything. I hope they do stand behind it, and if they dont I will not be on here voicing my sadness.
I have one on my Sabre w/150efi. It runs well under a full load. Good hole shot. Full wells, fuel, partner & gear Im getting 63 at 5600-5700. I havent run it light to get a “speed” number, but should be 3mph or more better. I prefer a “trued” 24 Tempest Plus with a little added cup to add some lift. The Sabre is stern heavy when tourney loaded and needs the larger diameter to carry a load better. Stock the fury is faster – worked, the Tempest is faster. BTW – most even pitched Tempests are “off” stock new and need to be trued by a good prop dr..
A 175 Sabre can run upper 60s loaded and 70-71 lighter. The 175 makes the Sabre much less weight critical and the Fury seems to be the best wheel for that combo. With a 150 the Sabre is a jeckel & hyde depending on load & distribution. In truth – every hull & motor runs a little differently and there are many wild cards to consider. Ive run 2 different 24 Tempests, 23 Tempest, A40 24 Trophy, and 2 different 24 Furys on my Sabre.1. The 24 Trophy carries the load best. Its a great tourney prop. Carries the whole boat and feels like it has 4WD. Its 2-3mph slower than the 24 Tempest.2. The 23 Tempest is awesome in hot weather but hits the limiter when temps drop @ 64mph. Its good out of the box.3. The 24 Tempest has different cupping than the 23 and is “off” typically new. When “trued” it has best acceleration and top speed. Ballz out – youll have to drive it. 4. The Fury is a great wheel on a 175+. Great lift, holeshot, and speeds – but its stiff and doesnt accelerate well on my 150. Youll have to run a few wheels yourself to find what works best for your style of fishing or setup. Thats half the fun.
