U sure they didnt put an sle case on there where u had an l2 case? Is the leading edge of lower unit straight or does it have a concave front?C.O.D. Jr. III
You sure they didnt swap 5:8 gears for 5:4 gears too?(1.86 to 1.71?)I lose 400 rpms on top the unit goes back. If they gave you 1.71 gears it goes back(they can easily switch it to 1.86- single gear switch). IT AINT RIGHT(I asked somone who has done >1000 BRP lower units).C.O.D. Jr. III
curt on the trailer bearings just check them everytime you stop to fill up and you will know if you have a problem coming on, for me I pull and repack every 5 years. Do NOT pump shots of grease into them as you will blow out the double lip seals. jsut keep an eye on them and you should be fine.Treat everyday like it might be the last
Mr. Collins I have a B&B 27 Tempest Plus that Marc Croxton did for me but it is not enough prop for me but might be perfect for you. If you want to work something out give me a shout. Thanks and God Bless
I have bent up my tempest the 2nd time now so instead of fixing again I am considering a Fury. Currently the Tempest runs at 5750RPM, 27″ pitch. 75 GPS and 2 3/4 # below the pad. The boat is a 2000 Cougar with a 225 Optimax. What would you think of the Fury on this hull and what pitch would be reccomended.Irv
I hope that is not the case. I am a major fan of the Merc Fury prop and will have to reconsider other props in the future if that is the case. Back on my 2008 SabreFTD/150HO Etec my 24 Raker II threw an ear (blade) and the prop was covered under warranty. Maybe there is a warranty period on the prop. How old is your prop? Ive been told that that the original reason the Fury prop was developed was for durability and the performance was born out of that endeavor. Hope you get it resolved.
Actually we have had good service on warranty from Mercury and no major issues with Fury props and the new alloy. Have you contacted a Mercury dealer yet to get this resolved? Please dont go on heresay, though try to resolve it before saying he said and she saids…
I chewed up some (serious) rocks at the OI, and except for a couple of nicks prop is ok. I checked for cracks at the base and other areas. All ok. Follow BCB advice and talk to your dealer or Merc direct.Martin
First Fury Ive ever heard of throwing a blade. Ive hit rocks, logs, stumps, dirt, etc. and have never thrown a blade. This stretches over half dozen or more Fury props.
