I have now put over 100 hours in the seat on this boat…love it! Trying to get all I can and found my original post from 4 years ago….Hoping this time someone will offer advice.More info on current setup. 6″ jackplate, 25M prop, remeasured the distance from prop shaft c/l to pad and its 3-5/16″. Have seen 70 GPS tourny loaded, full gas, 400 lb combined driver+passenger, 55 degree water, 60 degree air, turning 5600 RPM, water pressure 20+ with good hole shot. Ive learned to not overtrim this cat, but see a few threads from guys getting a few MPH more.Any suggestions?
Ran a Fury 25 today, dropped RPM to 5600, great hole shot and picked up 2 MPH……runs like a totally different cat. Just what I was looking for.
Thanks to Alan I am no longer looking but now the happy owner of a Cougar FTD. Looking forward to getting to know this boat!
Good suggestion….I picked up a cable today and plan to try hooking the 360 direct to the ONIX unit this weekend. That will eliminate either a bad cable or faulty 5-port switch. I dont think it is the 5-port because there is no interference on anything else but the 360 screen. Anyway, HB wants $245 just to look at the unit so it is worth a little effort on my part to rule out all the other possibilities. Thanks!
Hadnt thought of that….thanks!
I have a 2010 Cougar FTD that originally had a Motorguide Tour 109 36V 45″ shaft that I replaced with a 45″ Maxxum 80 24V. Decided to go back to 36V but with a MK Fortrex 52″. The problem is that even with the TM at its lowest position on the bracket, when the TM is stowed the port rod box lid hits the TM and will not open all the way. Not a problem when the TM is deployed but there are times I need in the rod box with the TM stowed. My work-around is to unlock and raise the TM to access the rod box, but I was wondering if there is a better way? The TM aligns on the bow mount plate perfectly (using original BCB holes) and I really dont want to drill new holes in the cap, but could consider new holes on the TM bracket if that is the best option.Help?
Motorguide 36V is no longer available
Sorry, MK is a Maxxum. Since I dont check the forum daily, my cell is 5016071570.
Everything sold.

Just made a deal with Danny at Gwinn’s Boat Repair in Mt. Ida. Had one in the box.
Amen. Also found one in Tulsa, but 1.5 hr vs 5 hr drive is much better.
2011 P2 garage-kept, tandem trailer. Just SW of Little Rock. Listed in this forum today. This was my friend’s boat, and he passed away suddenly. But I fished out of it and feel like I know the ins-outs if you are interested. Not close to Houston, though. I have 35 pics I can send you if you’d like.

Just posted a garage-kept 2011 P2 with 2008 200HP OptiMax. Lowrance HDS Gen 3 networked, power pole, etc. Near Little Rock, AR if interested, it is on this forum.
