Im having the motor checked out. The previous owner did not have the oil hooked up. He was mixing the fuel himself.(DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!) Ill wait and see what the Mech Tech says. I already have a good offer for it from someone who needs some parts for it and is willing to barter for a 1999 Mercury 150. I have to double check on the shaft size though on the Merc. I agree with not biting off more than I can chew. I will admit that I am a bit gitty about getting the new boat. I want all of the bells and whistles for it. Just wait until my girlfriend finds out that Im pushing back her marriage proposal to buy a bass boat!

Tackle Warehouse has a drain plug that you can engage and disengage from the console. It just so happens that it is on sale for today only. I have not used this product myself. I do not know what it would take to install. I just know that they offer this product for sell on their website. You can access it also by looking under their marine tab on the website. The brand is Igloo. The style is Marine. The size I cant be too sure of. I have 48 quart under the deck of my Sabre. The Marine style is all white it looks like he spray painted his to match the color of his boat. Take two measurements of the width and height of your opening and go to the websites of Walmart,Target,Big 5,Sports Authority, Igloo you get the point. Look at the dimensions of each size and see what will work for you.

Sorry I didnt mean to lecture. BCB is right. I myself am one of those novice anglers that BCB is referring too. Some how I got the impression that you were still running the engine. It would be very smart on your part to try to get more information and have that knowledge before you take it in so that you wont get taking for a ride when the shop calls you back with whats wrong. The information they tell you should match up with what you had guessed was wrong. If for some reason you dont get the answer here there is another forum at BBC Boards that has a lot of informative people on as well. There is even a board for the brand of engine you have. Lots of luck.

On Monday YUKU.com went through an upgrade. (yeah right) Ever since theyve gone back up things have not been the same. If you go to their help desk they basically tell you to not bother them they know things are screwed up so shut up and wait until they fix it. We should give them some time but if things dont improve we should try to get the host to move this forum to another venue.

http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/22633#.UKPWS7Tns20 Here is a link to my post. I truly feel your pain. But I have good news you can legally find a remedy to this. Although I live in CA the laws are similar. As long as you have the guys name and address or phone number you should be able to fill out a Statement of Facts form with your DMV. In the form you just need to state that all attempts to contact the seller of the trailer have been unsuccessful. If you have his address send a letter Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested and when you get no response that will help you out even more. Have a photo copy of the Return Receipt to give to DMV. As long as the price you purchased the trailer for or the value of the trailer is low $300.00 , $200.00 (you get my drift) and DMV records do not show any liens on the trailer. Which it shouldnt if the boat is free and clear the trailer should be as well. They should be able to accept that as proof that you can not get in touch with the current legal owner of the trailer. Pay whatever back taxes or registration fees and fines you have incurred. One other note about dealing with the DMV. Be patient. Be humble do not get frustrated. If you cant get help at one office go to another. It will be a game of hit and miss until you reach someone who knows the system inside and out and is willing to help you. By hook or by crook you can get this done. By crook I mean removing the dealer stamp and registering it as a home built trailer. There is more to this but you get the idea. Lien Sale. If you can not do it as a citizen befriend someone who has a tow yard or mechanic. A title bond. Ill stop there. I dont want you to get the wrong impression about me and my morals. When you are desperate youll do almost anything especially when you are getting the run around. Hope this helps. Hang in there.

Having a notarized bill of sale is nice but as you know it is worthless if the person you bought it from is not the legal owner. DMV needs proof that the registered owner has sold you his property. If you dont have the actual title then a current registration with matching names on the bill of sale should do. Baring those two documents you should be able to fill out a Statement of Facts form. Keep at it I know its a pain in the butt, try your hand at going to a different DMV office and explain your situation and ask them how to remedy the problem. If they give you the run around go to anther. You should run in to some help because you are the one who actually is following the law and doing what you are supposed to do and register the trailer in your name. It seems like it was passed from person to person and no one else could careless about making a legal transaction.

Try this company hopefully you have one near you. http://www.tapplastics.com They even cut while you wait. I just happened to go there today for some King Plastics Starboard. I was in and out in ten minutes. If you want it flush mounted you make a template with cardboard or styrofoam board or just take the measurements and go in and get it. There are videos on you tube on how you can fill the hole in. Good Luck

I have a 2000 BassCat SS I do not have a center stanchion as well. I dont believe it is supposed to have one. It would make sense though. I have to threaten my teenagers to be careful or else when they get in and out of the boat while its in the garage. “It is for show not function. “It is not a hand rail.” It was not designed to support your weight.” If you bend it call 911 immediately.” You are going to need them to pull me off of you.” Mine spins around freely as well. You can pull right out I do not have anything keeping it in place. Dont get me wrong I LOVE MY BOAT. You just have to be careful. Ive noticed on newer models it is clear. Like its made out of acrylic or something. Some people have attached L.E.D. lights to the ends to make them glow. It looks really good.
