I have a 03 BayCat that has seen way more saltwater then freshwater. Only problem with corrosion as been like Shap from La said at the bunk brakets on the trailer. The brakes system lasted a couple years, but you cant rinse everything every morning after you unload at the boatramp so we pinned the surge ram at the front of the trailer and have kept on rolling down the road. It has been a great boat so far. Fast, smooth, and dry.

I read the other responses,,but just to make sure you just drop in a bar of lava or some tide powder and it gets rid of all that bs down there?

Never had an issue unloading by BayCat,, loading now is a different story..if the trailer is not just the perfect depth I cant push it all the way up the trailer..not a big deal a little help from the winch and your done..

It has crossed my mind to move my two trolling batteries to under the console. I have a buddy with a BayCat and his were are already under the console when he bought it, dont know the year model. Mine is an 03 so I dont know about the strength of the floor under the console. As for the circuit breakers, salt water and those things dont work. I just cut them out and wired the trolling motor direct, probably not the most safest thing to do, but it eliminated a problem. BassCat should consider mounting the batteries under the console on the next year model or redesign the bilge. If yall ever want any input on a new layout design for a BayCat I have a list of suggestions. I love the boat, it always turns some heads (fast, smooth and dry) but there is always room for a little change.

I have had some minor problems with a livewell fill pump not coming on, never a wireing issue if anything its a bad pump pop it out pop in a new and go on. I dont really recall a bunch of wires in the bottom of the bilge, but there is a bunch of wires in there. I dissconnected my port and starboard pumps in the rear deck compartments and pulled them out. This helped with some of the wires being in the way. It also freed up two switches on the console for my livewell and baitwell pumps. I moved some wire around so I can fill the front baitwell without putting water in the rear livewell. Same with the recerculator pumps, I can run one at a time. As far a power to my accessories just minor corrosion on a switch maybe. With the trolling motor we took the minn kota off about a month after I got it, and put on a motor guide. I have a problem with my GPS some days were it starts blinking, it still works fine while its blinking but I dont know whats causing it. Maybe getting hot?

Just replaced mine with a set of Everstart Extremes group 29s from Wal Mart, cheap, good warrenty, and there is a Wal Mart in every town if I have to replace them. Have a friend with the same size boat and has had good luck with them. Had a set of Optima Yellow tops didnt last 2 years. It was a chore to get those batteries out and the new ones back in on a BayCat, but I got it. When BassCat is ready to redesign the bilge on the BayCat give me a call…Whew its tight in there…
