I have the exact same boat in question. With the 24 Fury I have it gets out of the hole like a rocket. Best I have had speed wist was just shy of 71 fully loaded with a buddy and I am also an inexperienced driver. I have been in FTD with 250s and its not really different at all other than top end. I have no regrets buying mine.
I have an 11 Puma AE with 225 and a 24 Fury. Ive done about 71 with some more left in it. I was only doing 64 before and it was on the rev limiter. It ended up having too much prop slip. I lowered the jackplate 3/4″ and gained the extra speed.
I ordered the fixed on my 2011 Puma but when I got it it was way too long. I had to trim it up so high that the rigging tube was about to pop out of the lower cowl. I called Allen at parts and got it swapped out for an adjustable one with no problems and it fits much better.
I just installed one on the bow in place of my ram mount. I just pre drilled the holes and screwed into the fiberglass. Before I put the screws in I put silicone on the threads and a good bit under the base of the mount itself. It is solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So going on BCB explanation the only spot for water intrusion in this area, short of something being damaged, is the screws for the battery tray not being sealed?
I had the same issue with my boat. I switched to larger batteries and when I drilled for the new trays water started coming out. An alarming amount. Mine was starboard side. I used the blow gun to clear it out. Oddly enough I used to get condensation in the starboard rear compartment and since doing this it has dried up. I assume water was getting past the sealant on the original screws for the battery tray.
