As always, you guys are the best. Thanks for the quick reply.
OK guys, Im a goober. I didnt even think to look and see that the Black bushings fit my boat. I did get the white one to fit, but it was a lot of grinding to do so, and thats my just rewards for getting in a hurry. Thanks for the help, Al
Great, thanks guys. I was trying to avoid upgrading antenna pods.
I can second that. Back in the 70s, when I was a Skeeter guy, I remember the BCB guys just loving the toughness of their boats. They felt then like we all do now. When I got back into fishing, I stopped by Tommys and talked to them several times before I found the boat I wanted. They sold me on the cat, and although I have yet to buy a new boat from them, they have treated me just like I did. Eldon and the guys in the shop, have got me to the point, that I dont even question their prices or work. Its nice to have a place that you can just say “fix it”, and they do.
Very In on this.
Yes, its sweet. Ill take a dozen of the decals.
Id love to pay $200 for another G Loomis GLX too, but theres only 1 way that can happen. Cheapen the product. Obviously we all want a more affordable boat, but thats not why we buy BCB. The long term quality we all demand, simply involves more than shiny gel coat, and I for one, wont ever purchase what I consider to be a second tier boat. I may be looking at BCB with “love goggles”, but when I sold my 90 Pantera II, I had people calling me non stop. Perfect gel coat, seats, carpet, and a solid transom sold the boat for me, not the price. Looked at any other 17 year old (at the time), boats lately? Granted, I probably wont ever buy a new Bass Cat, but a 2-3 year old one is always right in my wheel house, and I know its as solid as the day it was made. Besides, do you think KVD would be fishing out of a Nitro if he was paying for a boat? He gets 2 a year + his contract, and it shouldnt take 2 boats to fish the Elite Series. OK, “love goggles” off now.
I believe this is the correct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5GLb8PvPh0Kevin, thanks for the info.
Thanks, maybe Ill just use Aquamats. Theyve worked well in the past, and theyre easy to take out and clean.
Jignpig, thanks. That was the only point I was trying to make. I wasnt going to get in some flame war over this. All I was trying to say was that Ike made this enjoyable. One of the guys speaking really seemed to turn the smiles on and off as needed. Ike didnt.Listening to Velvick discuss the finer points of big big swimbaits, or Roumbanis talk about wake baits, is stuff I wouldnt have time to learn on the water. Yes, I can crank and wacky rig as well as any weekend angler, but they cut hours or days off my learning curve.Yep, there were stories, but a lot solid info was also there, and it did make for an enjoyable weekend. $400 a day for a guide or $230 for a weekend seminar, its all in what you make of it.
Welcome to the club. Everyone is wondering the same thing.Hit any list, and all the graph traffic revolves around Lowrance service issues. The Lowrance HDS, IMHO, is a better graph. But, I’m not sure it’s ready to take the on the water beating it was designed for. Personally, I’ve been running Lowrance units since the late 70’s, and have never had one issue with Lowrance, including a HDS 5 in the dash of my current P Classic. The technology of the Lowrance units though, has seemed to have out raced its implementation. They both are after all, computers, and computers break easily. The main issue seems to be a timely repair or replacement from Lowrance. I’ve held off on the same purchase as you, hoping this will all play out, but there’s no way to find out the actual repair percentages of units sold for either unit.$3000 is a lot of money to roll the dice on. If I could be sure that the Lowrance units were solid, and the issues people are reporting, were just an inter-web feeding frenzy, then I would probably go with Lowrance. If I wanted a second generation unit that I felt would give me better reliability, then I would go with the Hummingbird in a heartbeat.Red pill or blue pill, it’s ultimately up to you as to which graph gives you the picture and feature set you like best. They’re both fine units.
They do. Just make sure the surface is clean before you put the new pad on. Corners really need to adhere for it to fit nicely. I use a heat gun, on low setting, to take the old pad off intact, so I can just trace the new one before I cut the material. It comes in a sheet.http://www.basscatstore.com/non-skidrubbermat.aspx
Im in, and good to go.
BCB, please quit doing this. Ive got everything but a microwave on my Pantera, now I hate it. And if you do continue to make me Jones after something I cant have yet, please dont show it in the Red/White combination.
I know were all jazzed about the boat, but has anyone checked out the trailer? Looks like it is more contoured to the wheels, and has a lower center step. Thanks, BCB.
