I have a 1159 down imaging and gps with transducer I’d consider selling
It is down only, I also have a 999 that is down and side with gps
My 2008 Cougar
I am currently running a 2008 cougar ftd. 2008 was the first year of the new hull changes and it is a beast. with 2 people tournament loaded I’m averaging 77-80 mph and the fastest I’ve seen is 85 with just me. The rough water ride is amazing as well
tsmakos wrote: HunterJordan99. I believe you bought the boat I was looking at but I hadn’t sold my old boat yet so I couldn’t pull the trigger.. That is a sweet boat. Thanks for the feedback
it is an attention getter for sure. I love the boat and its been put to the test. Still haven’t got out ran in it
Coppermine lodge has its own private dock and boat ramp, depending on tournament rules you could put in at the Coppermine ramp and be in the prairie creek buoy’s in 3-5 minutes
If anyone decides to put in at hickory creek, The marina ramp is big enough for 2 boats at a time and there is a launch fee of $5 I believe. The public ramp is a single ramp with parking up to 20-30 boats
If you are willing to look at a little bit longer rod i would look at the Ark Tharp Series Glass Casting Rod 7′ Med Hvy Grinder. I throw most of my cranks on it except for deep divers
I have poles on my cougar and wouldn’t trade them for anything. Basscat does not recommend talons just because they are heavy. As far as the ultrex, I would love to have one but even with spot lock on it is constantly running and the boat still moves around. To me being in shallow water poles have the advantage because you just drop them and your movement is very minimal and there is no noise being created like there is with a trolling motor
I personaly prefer poles just for the fact that if I have a co angler on the back and say we are skipping dock, I can lower the poles and get them out of their way and if i am fishing a windy day I can add the drift paddles and slow my drift down dramatically
I run a 08 cougar that i just repowered with the new v8, Bass cat recommends the 24 but I run with a heavier load then normal and went with a 25 fury and I’m still seeing full rpms, and 83-84mph
I would try a 26p fury 3. You may loose a little hole shot but it may gain you a couple MPH. When I first repowered my 2008 Cougar with a new 250 ProXs I only had a 26 fury and was seeing mid 80’s solo with a light load. I was turning it around 5850-5900 rpm. People will tell you it is too big of a prop but it will turn it
Good Morning,
I have a 2008 Cougar with a 2019 Pro XS and my cousin has a 2020 Cougar. Both are rigged with 8″ bob’s hydraulic Jackplate and both like to be run at 2-2.5″ on the plate. A 24p fury 3 will be the best all around prop. I swap between a 24p and 25p fury 3 most of the time. Bass cat uses smaller jack plates due to the cleanest water being closest to the transom
Revans- I installed the Rod Buckles on my 08 cougar using the concealment kit so I could cut a smaller hole in the deck. It was fairly easy to do
I had the same issue with my bob’s earlier this year. The top seal on lift cylinder had popped out. I reached out to bob’s and they took care of me immediately by sending me a new assembly. Your dealership should take care of you
