In the SmartCraft manual there is a setup you can do that will sometimes fix the reading being wrong. I am not sure if it will help if the reading is jumping all over the place. Jay
Thanks Judd. I was thinking it would be some money and time that may not not benifit the boat. I am just now setting up my ride. I ran it all season just like BCB set it from the factory. Thought I might go ahead and try to get a few more out of it. I am still running the 26 Trophy on it. The only thing I did as far as setup was put plenty of weight in the boat to keep it off the rev limit. I may try to turn a 27 something.
It should be ok or in most cases is. Like Gary said it could have damaged the seals or worse bent the prop shaft. If you shut it down quick enough you could have saved it from damaging itself anymore. misr12 let us know the out come. I wish you the best tomorrow. Thanks for going into such great detail with us on whats going on. I for one have been pleased with the Perko latches that came on my boat. With proper use I have never had a problem with mine. Hey Phil would you mind giving us a show and tell on the latches you tested now the CAT is out of the bag.
