UnLess you are an Olympic athlete, you cant get out the water with either one of them. The new Eyra has a telescoping ladder that looks like it would work. Basscats ladder maker needs to come up with an add on to convert the existing fold downs. PLEASE

The fOld down ladder on my P2 only extends about three inches in the water. If you put your foot on it, your foot is above your head. Pretty tough to pull up with little to grab on to.

I have boarded several times. Im not saying you cant do it, but under duress it could be really difficult. The new Eyra has a MUCH better solution. I would pay good money for an adaptor that worked the same way.

Jim, Thanks for the valuable reply (as opposed to sa remarks about my condition). I have a call in to Metalogic and hopefully I will come up with a solution that gets me closer to the Eyra status. My wife and I like to swim off the boat in the heat and think that a ladder solution is better than buying an inboard with a swim deck. Just saying!!! I will keep you posted.

My P2 (2010) has the same issue. It hasnt come loose to the extent I see in the pic, but a have a big loop near the transom. All the the rest of the insert is in place, leading me to believe that it was put in in cold weather and has expanded. I was thinking of putting that system for night fishing that puts LED lights in the rub rail, but this issue has spooked me on that.

My 898 has been locking up for the last month at 3.6 for long periods. I was about ready to change transducers as I had tried everything HB had suggested. All of a sdden last week it just quit doing it. Baffled!
