I appreciate that I think I can make it happen from that…Again thanks for the quick response your help is invaluable……. MEASUREMENTS WORKED PERFECT….TIGHT AROUND VENT HOLE WORKING BUT OTHER THEN THAT NOT A BAD INSTALL. BCB MY DAUGHTER THANKS YOU IMMENSELY… Last edited by Mark5795 on July 1st, 2008, 12:44 am, edited 1 time in total.
I have set it up there best it can but this ladder has the studs on the top sticking out and I assume they are welded or at least thread locked in place so it is impossible for me to set it on the boat for an exact fit at this time. Looking at the angles they are real close for as close as I can set it to the boat now so I feel confident that this is the right ladder and will fit if I drill the top 2 holes in the right place the first time……I agree with you what a mess it could make to someone that cares about their boat…..BCB has been great with this info and should insure a correct fit the first time….
When I purchased the boat EK handled the transaction because Randy had left for the Decatur tournament. EK was very helpful and allowed me to get this done quickly. I was in and out of TN (Randy and his brother were able to get it to TN a bit closer to home for me) picking the boat up literally 4 or 5 days after making the deal. Things clicked and Ek answered some valuable questions along the way…Nice guy to talk to….I tried to get him up this way to fish some Salmon….maybe I can convince him some time in the future…..Bass are biting good right now…..I just need to convince my son that you cant troll at 70+mph so I can get into some of the banks and rocky areas to find the bigger one….lol I do want to know who at BCB used it to go perch fishing the week before I bought it and left it dirty…..you all owe me a good detailing………
Tony, Good to hear on the tow vehicle looks like BCB has pointed you in the correct direction…. I know the area where you fish. We are headed to the Belgrade area for a few days this weekend then headed to our camp in Webster Maine….North East near Canadian border..West Grand is our big lake but we put in at Bottle Lake and have access to 11 lakes from that ramp including the big lake. We love the quiet and were lucky to see 5 boats over an entire weekend…Have you ever fished Salmon or Macgrath in the Belgrade area?
The butt seat is leaning sideways not front or back and came mounted on its base???? Does that mean I can rotate the plate that came mounted on the underside is it a perfect square? Can I order a new decal? Is there a swap out deal of any sorts on the battery and if so would I go to a vendor? Thanks for the quick responses…….. Also I forgot I have a 4th one….The arrow on the top of my motor guide trolling motor is not staying in line with the motor…I can turn it and now easier then when I first tried…Anyone know how this tightens and how I can keep it pointing in line with the troller…??? Thansk again
What prop are you running and at what RPMs? Jackplate setup? Nice looking boat
Is there a 36 volt set up that you are aware of? Thanks
Buy a used 2008 Cougar, realize the seat threads are pulling, call Basscat speak to Scott he asked me to email some pictures and as posted before I am more then a stones throw away, about an hour or two after emailing the pictures I get an email back from Scott that new seats have been ordered…that was maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago and just before the shutdown….Yesterday the seats showed up no cost to me………… You guys really are the best and many companies could take a lesson or two from you and how you treat your customers…. I am sold………..10 times over……….
Thanks, havent even looked at them is this done with a tool? Are they threaded and are there multiple sizes in each hole? Thanks again
I agree completely, my sentiments to the tee………….I was worried about fuel mileage as I was going from a small 4 stroke to the 250 Opti but I have been more then happy with the excellent fuel mileage it has been getting even when I am playing with WOT…… Nice set up the 08 Cougar with the 250 Opti……..hard to beat in my opinion….
Phil, If there is 2 handed resistance and lots of torque would someone want to move their jackplate and if so I assume you would raise it? At what point is this torque measured? When you feel you are at maximum trim and speed or as you are WOT and reaching top speeds and still triming it? Thanks
Bass cat has them I just ordered one….I would assume if the key slot is there you can jsut use the part you need and then your key will work…
brake/rust/trailer residue and it is mixing with some water draining from the trailer….could be the water is leaking in that area due to incline….. My humble opinion but BCB may have a better one….
If I didnt buy a black and yellow that would have been my other choice….. Nothing like being seen on the water…..
Thanks Phil. I am trying to figure out my hole shot…Top end is great, not sure if my hole shot could improve from a prop change, jack plate height or plug removal. I have removed 2 plugs but not noticed a great change. I am expecting a better hole shot on this boat with this motor but maybe I am over expecting. No BCB dealer in my area at all so I am having to rely on the summer of driving it and some seat time in other bass boats. I do know that with a hydraulic jack plate I was able to work the plate some on takeoff and improve the hole shot while also triming slightly with that other boat. I dont have that advantage on this boat with the mechanical jack plate…. I guess you just have to call it intuition but in my honest opinion this boat has a better take off in it I just lack the knowledge to know exactly which way to go on it to improve it….I read that prop choice seems correct but I will continue to work my way through this to see if I can stumble onto a package that works. Thanks for the help I will keep trying….
