Thanks BCB for fixing the post so it link to it, I am not used to these boards, I am a BBC junkie! If anyone ever wants a ride in am near Charlotte, NC and would be glad to take you for a ride!
Bill you should just come to the NC Rally and go for a ride in mine, yes I think it will handle 3-4 fters if you were to get caught in them. I will shoot you an im through the BBC.
I dont know exact but I would also guess 5k, I pull it with both a Tahoe and a 1500 Silverado wit no problems!
I also purchased from Mark at High Rock, great guy was there just today bsing with him about boats and fishing!!
I think I got it!!
Dont feel bad have not gotten mine yet either! I did send them a request to do a write up on the baycat! I think BCB is missing some good press by that boat not being in the market more !
Like they said I would prop to run around 5700 rpms is that GPS speed or speedo?? I have the same boat with a 250proxs and with my Bravo I I am running around 65 gps at 5600rpms, I slung a blade on it and had to use my 23 tempest backup and it will not run but 61gps but will break your neck out of the hole!
It is looking like the Cougar with a 250proxs will be a right at 80 boat with small load. I played with a puma with 250proxs the other day and hit 79.1 alone and not much gear and it was a great ride. These speeds were in a good chop also!
Bill you might want to call me sometime I can give some insight on some things I might would do different on the rigging. I will list them here and see what BCB thinks.#1 just get a smart craft guage and dont worry about all the rest of the guages. #2 flush mount the GPS if you are going with the Lowrance set it up so the guages show up on the screen. #3 flush mount the Marine Radio, they make the kind that can be flush mounted now. #4 Since you will be running in the bay more often than me, get the 25″ shaft and a hydro jackplate. #5 Maybe hydro trim tabs #6 Go ahead and get a foot control TM, I talked with the MK rep and he said they see not difference in corrosion on the black vs white ones, i am still not used to the hand control and will be switching mine out soon. In this pic maybe you can see what I am talking about, my smartcraft is between the sterring wheel and gear shift, dont put any guages except for gas and batt those are right of shifter, also see if they could move the trim guage to that same location. I dont see the need for RPM, speed or PSI since they all show on the SC. Flush mount the GPS where the guages are now, if you are getting the CD player I might would see if it can be mounted flush on the side of the console, or I dont know if you can do the console without the glove box or not but I would and mount the radio there. There is storeage under the leaning post for stuff you might would keep in the glove box. Hope that helps a little, I will shoot you a IM on BBC with my phone number!
I got my boat from them, Mark (sales) and the service guys are great! Mark has been in boat sales for a long time and I think worked for Green years ago. I dont think Green will be near Charlotte I think closer to winston. I think Mark might be out of town right now but I know he will be at the classic expo next weekend.
Buy it!! I will have a SI unit in my boat soon!!
Well April can be a good time on Norman, your choices of places to say will either be at exit 36 off I77 or exit 25/28 there is a days inn at 28 that is boater friendly. The lake is down the ramps at exit 36 on hwy150 are all open. Patterns is docks, shakey head, jerkbait, jig fished around docks, long clay points and riprap will also work!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanks guys !
Same here as Jamey, I just left CBC they are still open and Mark is still operating and selling boats! I had to drop my baycat off to head back to AR for some work. He will still be in bizz, Mark is a great guy and takes care of his customers!
