Thanks for the help. I know its not the battery. The starter engages and almost cranks on the initial try. If I can get to the nuetral button and get the rpms up it will keep running, usually smoking moe than normal from the excessive fuel/oil mixture buildup in the cylinder. If it doesnt start on the fist try, I usually wait another 15-20 minutes & try again till I can get it running. Will try the compression check to see if I can narrow a potential cause before I take it in
Is the boat still on the market?send additional pics to [email protected] in La?
Is the boat still available?Location?Asking price?
My dealer is promoting the Power Pole (Blade) and has shown me the hydraulic pump setup for them and space is really not an issue.I fish 90% by myself so the Talon being in the way is not an issue. Most of the reviews & videos Im finding are from fishing guides that use the heck out of the power poles and prefer them over the Talon.I have to stop before I back the boat into my garage to lower the motor, so either one is not issue for putting the boat away or taking it out. Thanks for the advise and will continue my research.
Well I guess I get to trade one useful item for a more useful one. I think its something Ill get used to
I wish it was that easy, but a current storage issue does not make that possible. I havent had to use the ladder yet, so I will need to check out my options if it wasnt there. Thanks,
I have not ordered the Talon yet and want to make sure what I needed to do about the ladder. When I order I will need the tilt bracket to get it in my garage. I have checked out and listed all the parts I need to order and needed an opinion on the Ladder.does any one know if is possible to mount the same ladder on the Starboard side or is it available to order?i havent been tossed out of the boat yet, although I have come close a few times, mostly from other uncourteous pleasure boaters who feel they need to run wide open within 30 yards of me.
I purchased the boat basically new (had 5 hours on the motor) in August, 2014, but Ill start there and see what I find. Thanks for the information.
I also have a 2013 P2 with a similar issue, but I notice it only happens occasionally, when I first start the engine. Turning the power switch off and on seems to temporarily fix the issue and no loose connections have been found.
Thanks for the info. Since it is still under warranty Ill have my dealer check it out and use your info to get him started.
I plan on installing the quick disconnect plug to allow removal of the Talon and wasnt sure if I could add it to the existing master switch, just to keep it from deploying and draining the battery during storage. It is suggested on the Minn Kota website to install a 30 amp switch, which I think would put less wear and tear on the plugs.Do you have any thoughts on the current bracket orientation to the transom? It seems too close to me. I may move it to 4″ from the transom. There doesnt appear to be any play in the bracket, but me pulling on it and a 1500 lb boat in rough water is a big difference. Thanks
Should I remove the washers between the L bracket and Jack plate?this doesnt look right?Last edited by NFCSOB on May 27th, 2015, 10:54 am, edited 1 time in total.
Been playing with the bracket location to get more clearance from the transom and rotating one click with the C bracket puts the flag about 3-3/4″ from the transom. The problem is I cant get the flag parallel with the transom and it is on its last click. How critical is it to be parallel with the flag/Talon?
Thanks, that did the trick. It didnt occur to me to flip the bracket.
If you can get your camera phone behind the unit in the console you can take a picture of it.i think it is one of the back bottom cornersi have a 898 on my P2 and thats what I was able to do
