You say “they use the same valve” does that mean there is two? When I have the indicator on left it shows full (when full) and when I switch it to right it pegs to empty, no matter what. Also the vent. Is that soely for the purpose of vapor release while filling? Anotherwords should I be opening this while fueling to avoid filler neck back splash? (I did get that pretty bad while fueling) Thanks for the help and, by the way, the new ride is awesome. I hit 70.8 GPS and I wasnt done playing with the trim, only cut back because my wife wouldnt stop screaming. Also found it extremely fishable, love the extended flipping deck and recessed TM control. Previously owned a Nitro and have been recently fishing on a partners Pro Craft. Both fine boats but after only one trip I can say with authority that Im now, without question, a Bass Catter! In the next couple years I will most certainly be upgrading, Im very pleased.
Thanks for the answers guys. Im sure Ill have more questions as I put some more hours on my rig. Will be running it in a turny Wednesday, maybe Ill have a new boat luck bump. One thing I noticed immediatly was the handeling difference with the hull style as opposed to other bass boats Ive ran. Most obvious your sitting on something different during higher speed turns. Also somewhat expected a pretty firm slap when crossing boat wakes with the pad style hull. Didnt really get that, instead just a mild and stable pop as we crossed them. Fished an inland lake that got pretty crowed mid afternoon with pleasure boats so it provided a pretty good opportunity to experience varying water and handeling conditions. Once again we were quite pleased. Anxious to see in the coming weeks how it does on the near shore waters of Lake Erie when we head out for Smallies. 1-3 footers are quite common and this boat seems to prefer to run a little more flat as opposed to much bow rise, well see how she does.
Dont be pissed yet. Give yourself chance to get to know this woman. She fishes, hunts, takes care of a family and the largest state in the nation. Shes also a dedicated NRA member. Neither she or her husband are lawyers (big plus). Im getting tired of lawyers and career politicians running our country. She and her family are as regular type of people as most of us. In the coming weeks most will get the opportunity to see that she is more than qualified and not full of the regular beltway crap. Shes a good, conservative family person that does not play the old fashioned bulls$it politician games. And as for the CFB talk, sorry but, Ohio State will be bringing it home this year
Maybe Snakehead tournments are soon to be in order, with all caught fish donated to local food banks. Its kind of ironic that the fears attributed to so many invasive species turn out to be positives, although I dont see that here. The Zebra Mussels and Gobies that were forcasted to be the downfall of the great lakes have been just the opposite. The Zebra Mussels have dramatically improved the water quality/clarity and improved the habitat for several species of fish. The Gobies, while they prey upon hatching gamefish and other fry, have proven to become a staple diet for Walleye, Smallmouth, Pike, Musky, and even Perch. Time will tell but I hope the Snakehead can be either eradicated by human means or controlled by natural ones.
BCB, Thank you for the advice. I contacted Detwiler and got a price for a 6 All-in-one, not too awful bad. For the guys that run these any preferences on the control types? Im thinking the turn signal style, similar to pro trim, with the dash guage. Im a big fan of keeping my hands on the wheel. Thanks again and, once again, I apoligize for jumping Earps thread…hope he was done with it.
Im new and would like to attend as well. How do you “make sure your boat is registered with BCB”? I bought my 06 Classic at a vehicle repo auction this summer in Northern Ohio. It has a Sherms Marine emblem on it so, obviously, thats where it originated. How do I know if its registered and how do I register it if it is not. This event looks like a great time and my tourny partner, myself, and our families are looking forward to it. (Maybe if my fishing partner sees 500 Basscats hell feel compelled to move UP from his Skeeter )
Thanks guys very much, my Stepsons Grandparents live on West Point but I never heard anything about it, info wise, as a fishery. I knew you fellas would know and I appreciate your help greatly. I goggled both lakes and found some very nice waterfront lodging info. If we can pull this off I will probably stay on West Point and fish both. Even if we cant get down this week it will most certainly be soon. My tourny partner, and great friend, was in my office today while I was searching info on these lakes. We saw, of course, several big bass photos and 64 degree water. Hell I saw a neighbor walking on his pond yesterday, and well be walking on all our water up here in a few weeks! Thanks again, I look forward to the trip.
