Thanks I will check it out tomorrow afternoon. My Pantera III is my first boat and I absolutely love it. I will never own anything but a BassCat. Small hiccup but I am sure that I can fix it.

Found the problem. Quick and very cheap fix! Wire came out of connector to the breaker right at the battery. Breaker and wire were laying in the bottom of the hull. Problem has been corrected! Thanks for the help BCB!

Our govt and especially our President have no idea what they are doing. A complete dismantling of our country is under way. The so called educated people in Washington are tearing this country down. I think that they need to go back and read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. November 2012 can not get here soon enough (Time for a real Change).

I have a HDS 5 with Lake Insight on my Pantera 3. No issues for over a year. I have had guys pretty much tell me I was stupid for having one because they have nothing but issues. Difference in myself and them is I did my own install. But just like any other product out there you are gonna have people that love it and hate it. I will purchase a HDS 8 next and move my HDS 5 to the bow. Choice is totally up to you. Happy hunting!

I can admit to launching the boat with the rear straps still attached. Trailer floats nicely. Did not take long for me to figure out my problem. We are human and mishaps are going to happen. Laugh and enjoy the times.

I checked the oil and there is oil in both reservoirs. It may be water in the fuel, but I am still taking it to a Mercury certified mechanic on Monday.

Alarm was for voltage according to the Mercury Tech at a dealership. Then they wanted $588 plus 2 hours of labor for an alternator replacement. This sounds like a DIY project.Last edited by Quik13 on August 10th, 2010, 10:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.

It is showing 10.9 or less. I just installed a brand new alternator this past week. The alternator should be good. I also discount the battery theory because my motor drained all three of my batteries while trying to get back to the truck. Are there any inline fuses or a voltage regulator on a 2002 Optimax that could cause this issue?

Checked the wires for continuity and all have continuity. Checked the input voltage (energizing source) into the Alternator and saw 12.2 volts. With the Motor running I saw 12 volts or less coming from the alternator output lead. Could this mean that my new alternator is also a bad alternator? I am going to take my alternator to a local parts house and see if it can be bench tested. I am quickly running out of ideas.

Merry Christmas to all the BassCat family. Today we celebrate the greatest gift ever given to mankind the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember it is about him not us!

I do not have Structure Scan yet. I will buy it LSS-1 in August. So would I benefit more from just the Ethernet cables? If I go the Ethernet route what will I need to just Network the two units?
