I replaced my Lowrance 480, same size as yours, with a Hbird 797 and it fit in the existing hole perfectly. A little harder was fishing the wires, slightly tight fit but an electricians fish tape made it easier. Hardest part was changing out the GPS reciever on the back right corner. I took off the chrome vent and reached through there to access the screws below, thats right its screwed from the bottom. Of all the things I love about my Pantera IV, it seems like somebody had a brain fart when they came up with that design. I think its a Lowrance mounting design, not a BassCat thing, but it will wear on your patience. Overall a 3 out of 5 on the difficulty scale. Would have easily been a 1.5 if not for the receiver screws, my short fat arms and large belly!!!!!!
Thats what I love about this forum…..nobody is given crap for even the most basic questions. I had this same question last year when I got my PIV, my first bassboat. All the guys on this board are so helpful and provide solid info. You really dont have to have waste your time wading through all kinds of BS to get the real answer.
Yep, those Bluewater kits are COOL. Mike is in Louisville like me and Ive talked to him in the posts on BBC. I have a White/Black/Red PIV and Im right on the verge of getting one of the Red deck kits. Id like to change out to LED in the compartments but cant justify the expense, I just put the money towards a new Hbird for the bow. Was the install pretty simple?
I made a mistake on the hours, the Opti only has 115 hours on it. Also, forgot to mention the Humminbirds include the weather sense module. The SI unit at the dash has both a transom mounted transducer and a shoot through run through a switch on a dash. Culmrite 3 bank on board charger. Swing tongue on trailer. Thanks to all that have had questions. Hate to see it go but its time for this kitty to have a new home.
Dont know how new you want but my 2005 is up for sale.http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/164 … V-for-sale
This boat is off the market. Ive decided to keep it. Thanks to all who have contacted me with interest. Damn PIVs, what they say is true, the owners tend to hold onto them.
Thanks for the responses.
Smellslikefish, just saw your post and PMs. Sorry for the delayed response. Heres some interior shots. I took these before I changed the TM from a Powerdrive to the Terrova and moved the front Hbird to the recess. Its in really good shape mainly due to the fact that its only been on the water no more than 40 days since Ive owned it and over half of those days were week long musky trips to Canada.
Malibu Red cap and bolt, Candy Apple Red stripes. Im located in Louisville.
Sorry, boat is sold.
