My last boat was an 184″ Champion I had it for 21yrs. good boat. I had been looking for another one, on and off for about 2yrs. when I had a chance to fish out of the second different Bass Cats and recognized real quick that the Bass Cats were right there in the ride in rough water and fishability was awesome. So I spent the next few monthes looking at Cats and bought my Puma. Thanks for the welcome and no movie with Cruise.
Eddie, Good Lookin Boat!!! Like the colors too. Glad to see you got it. The wife and I liked talking to you the other night too, glad you called. Mine goes to Bass Cats Boat Hospital this weekend. Needs to get fixed as soon as possible. I have got to get back to Ross Barnett and flip those Lilly Pads someday. Anyway Enjoy that new boat. Rowdy!
Hey, Thanks to all that chimed in. I ordered the 52″ MK last night and its on its way. Now in a couple of weeks when I get my boat back from the hospital Ill install it and be ready to try it out. Thanks Again!
Should you be adding Quickleen on everytime you fill up? Ive be told not too, but add it every couple of fill ups.
I have one more question has anyone put a rubber washer or is it standard to use a rubber washer between the base and the gel coat or is this a bad idea? I have them in there now and it just barely keeps the base from touching the gel coat.
Whatever date is chosen, count me in. Ill be their.
Check the website I believe it tells what channel its on.
What is the suggestion for batteries for starting? Dont all the electronics run off of the starting batteries?
Here is a couple of pictures showing what Im thinking of doing to keep from having to keep replacing or cutting off the tubing. What do you think?
Thanks for all the information. I believe Ill start off with replacing the 3 trolling motor batteries and then worry about the starting battery. I talked to guy in our club last night and he recommended Optima he said hes had his for 7 years now and they are still going strong.
Has anyone had a problem with the motor blocking the signal by installing on the jackplate?
Yes, 1 on each lower corner. I think I can deal with the holes, just concearned about having to raise the motor. Hey Gasbasser you didnt happen to fish Grand Lake in june, 2007 did you?
Thanks Sam for the pictures. With your motor trimmed all the way down does it interfere with the signal? Do you have to trim up a little for it to read right?
When I installed mine I ran into the exact same thing. I did a trim job on the base of the trolling motor plastic shroud to clear the rise in front of the switch. The trolling motor than was then able to sit flat on the cap of the hull. It did not have any adverse effect on stability of the trolling motor after getting it installed.
I have one thats a 52″ shaft, US1 transducer in housing, 24 volt 80lb. thrust. I used for 2 seasons. If interested in seeing pictures or have any questions email me at ] or call 316-393-6738.
