Yes I ahve the push pull lever on mounted next to the throttle. I will check and see if the flapper is stuck.. thanks for the replys

a little goose with the throttle just before you get swamped helps with the wave coming in the back of the boat.. just sayin..

Haha.. I feel ya.. My 11 year ols outfished me at the mcdonalds at sam rayburn this year.. and he wont let me forget it either. And then he brings up how he caught more mahi mahi on our trip to padre a few years ago.. I dont mind taking it though.. he will realize when he gets older and has a son himself how you always hand them the rod when your trolling.. lol

Thanks for the advise.. I will always check from now on. It was only the second time putting it in the water for me,but I have a checklist of things to look at before I put her down at the ramp..

I bought a 96 pantera classic after a lot of looking at boats, Only paid $9500. My g/f now loves to go fishing with me and feels really safe at high speeds. The boat will run 70 with an 96 200 merc EFI. Of course the motor had low hrs. I have run it in rough water on Toledo bend and rayburn and never got wet. I think one time I shaved the top of a wave and dusted us with a little water but that was operator error. It wasnt bad though, and since it was really hot it was actually a good thing. You will love the ride. The only thing I wish mine had was hydraulic steering. I have been thinking of adding that but $2000 is a lot of money. BUt for a safety stand point it will be worth it. With the cable steering the boat turns hard right when you let go of the wheel. Other than that.. I LOVE my new boat. I take it out 4-5 times a month since I have bought it.
