I have had great success with Kistler’s KLX Feel and Reel – it’s a half glass-half graphite blank and performs flawlessly for my square bill applications.  I have several of them but the 6’10” Medium and Medium Heavy are my number one choices.  Give them  try.

I’m okay with estimates – the measurements do not have to be CAD-precise just in the ballpark to get me started.  Thank you for your assistance.

Good morning Gerald – In an effort to try and answer your question versus steer you into another model and add confusion; In my experience from owning Rangers and riding in multiple Skeeters and other brands (Phoenix, Nitro, etc.) and having an in-depth understanding of hull designs and ride characteristics – the Lynx ride is far more comfortable than anything else I’ve experienced in 1-3′ chop and larger rollers.  PM me if you have more specific questions.  If you are a small/calm lake guy or fair weather angler – its not as prevalent.  However, I am recovering from a spinal injury myself and ride was the number one evaluation criteria (Comfort over Speed) that I had when comparing manufacturers and models.  When you add in the manufacturing techniques, procedures and practices along with the stellar customer support – I do not think you can go wrong with another BCB.

As an admin note – I test drove all premium models of BCB’s with the exception of the Jag – for what you name as your concerns with a new boat –  the Caracal is a great platform as well and similar deadrise and rake as the Lynx so the rough water ride is different that the other BCB premium models.  Again, PM if you have specific questions – I’m happy to help.

Sorry fo the late reply – I did dual 10’s on my Lynx – one per side on the “shelves”.  For me I wanted them placed on the side they were associated with in order to prevent adding to the confusion if anything went wrong….  Also used existing holes for the lines.  PM me if you would like more details or photos.

Sounds like you have her figured out but my only unsolicited comment as a former R-boat and fellow Lynx owner is that if you fish off shore structure in bigger lakes the 45″ will leave your head/prop out of the water a bit in rougher conditions.  If you are a shallow water/bank/small lake angler and/or plan to never sell the boat – you are good.  But for the upgrade charge – the 52″ (in my experience) is well worth the $.  I hope this helps and does not provide more confusion.

This is the only and I truly mean only thing that I do not enjoy about my new Lynx.  The cover is amazing but I’ve begun referring to the ratchets as the 4-letter ratchets.  My technician suggested to lubricate with PAM the cooking spray as it will not stain the cover and thus far they are better – just not ideal.  My thoughts are to modify the cover straps to accept Boat Buckle ratchets at the back – like the ones on the trailer.  Has anyone tried this – what is BCB’s take on it?

    Thank you.

Thank you.  What model boat do you have? Could you possibly post a photo or two – this is exactly what I am thinking about doing.

    I appreciate your feedback.

Serious consideration should be given to utilizing your closest dealer if at all possible.  Establishing that relationship can be worth its weight in gold – especially when there are issues.  And there will be issues – regardless of the boat, the model or the manufacturer.  BCB is a premiere manufacturer no question.  However, even the best boat company’s occasionally have items that need warranty coverage.
Also, margins in these products are extremely competitive to say the least and having someone close enough by to get you back on the water in a pinch could prove invaluable.  All of this assumes the dealer is above board, reputable and has the service department needed to support its clientele – which BCB works very hard to ensure before setting a dealer up.
If the dollar is truly your only concern then I would submit to you to consider at minimum to give your closest dealer the opportunity to earn your business.  As you expect them to be transparent with you, be the same with them, and tell them that you are price shopper with little focus on client loyalty or establishing a service relationship for the long-term and don’t mind drive 6, 8, 10 or more hours to save a few hundred bucks.  If you allow them this it can go only two ways:
They work with you in an effort to earn your business and figure out ways to save you money (i.e. price matching, options or accessories, services, etc.)
    – OR –
They decide you are not the client they want within their dealership’s clientele and suggest that you are better off with another dealer.
Either way – you are better off and, you can at least know that you gave them the opportunity.
