Believe chopper is a 26 pitch.Normally run a Tempest.74-76 on speedo with Tempest at 5890 rpm.79 on speedo with chopper at 5700rpms.I dont believe a stock 150 EFI can swing the chopper I have.My engine has Boysen reeds,Brucato tuner and Brucato SVS.I know those mods gave me 300 rpm because I documented performance gains after each mod running the Tempest.Im running a larger pitch to keep my rpms in the optimal range. Havent tried the bridgeport tuner, might do that since I blew the powerhead the other day,not sure what happened yet, think something internal failed.Going to keep the 97 instead of repowering so I can keep the Brucato etc.
As far as i knew me and my brother were the first BassCat owners in the Northeast. We bought a 1990 Caracal from Greenport Marine in Hudson NY.We ordered the boat in the early spring of that year but didnt take delivery in time for the Owners Invitational. We did make it the following year and for quite a few years after that.Sold the Caracal in 1996 and ordered a 1997 Sabre which we picked up at the factory and fished the O I.We are still fishing out of the 97 Sabre, why change when it is the perfect boat for the waters we fish. I had a 1986 Skeeter Starfire SF150 with a Johnson GT 150. The strongest engine I’ve ever had. Scary fast boat. Fished a tournament and at the end one of the competitors that had a Gambler was impressed with the speed. Long story short …… Skeeter faster than his Gambler.
Check the ignition switch. If it’s not supplying 12 volts to the ECU the engine will crank but won’t start. You can verify that the ECU is being powered up by turning the key and listening to see if the fuel pump(VST) is turning on.
