Looking at the specs its only rated for 435lbs. Three normal size people are way over that. With a 50hp and a jackplate it should plane with 2 persons fairly easily.Have you experimented with jackplate height?
I would skip the smartphone and buy an inexpensive digital camera.Probably better quality pictures and not a big loss if you happen to lose it overboard.
If youre sure the engine is making full power then its probably the prop. Im thinking a 19p SS is more suited to a 75 than a 50. Be interesting to hear what others think.
Were still hanging in there. Still running the 97 Sabre. Had to put a new powerhead on the Merc a few years back but other than that the boat is holding up well. Just ordered a replacement dash for the BP-101. Maine winters played havoc on the digital dash. Hope to make a few more OIs before we get too much older. Wishing everyone at Basscat a great year. Not sure of the difference between older and newer models but my 97 Sabre fishes 3 grown men comfortably. Two up front and one on the back deck. No issues with stability at all.
I dont know the answer to your question but heres an observation you might consider. The more zippers, snaps, buttons etc. the more points of possible failure. I prefer simplicity in clothing when trying to stay warm, dry etc.
According to the info posted it says adjustable ankle enclosure(that usually means velcro). Probably fairly large opening that you can snug tight with velcro straps.
