I forgot the important part – it is powered by an ETEC 150 HO.
Tom, Ivan told me that the plates on the jackplate should be even across the top. He also mentioned that the distance from the top of the highest plate to the prop shaft should be 24 1/8 inches. Just something to check to see if it was setup right. Wayne
I was told 8 business days start to finish in the factory.
When I checked into these, the gauges ran $1800 – $2,000 plus another grand to have them installed. The sensors required for some of the functions were $400+. I wish they were cheaper and/or available from the factory. Wayne
Bryan, Welcome to the great white north! I can tell you the fish are biting on Delavan Lake and this lake would give the ability to strech that P4s legs. The weather is good – highs in the 80s and water temps in the mid to high 70s. I hope the boat is everything you were looking for. Welcome to the family and have a safe ride up here. If you want any info on fishing in SE WI let me know. Wayne 08 Sabre FTD
Gas went from $3.73 on Wednesday to $4.05 yesterday. Kind of makes me afraid to look this morning.
I usually carry about 7, 7 footers. Rod socks are a must. I use the top inside 2 and bottom inside 1 in the rod locker and the rest go in the drivers side compartment. I now have 2 rods that are 2 inches shorter than originals – that happened when I was in a hurry and did not put the socks on, one from each side. I have the socks from BPS and Cabelas and prefer the ones from Cabelas because the are adjustable. It is a little tight putting them in the rod lacker on the passenger side due to the console – twisting does help – and a few choice words. Wayne
I have seen 62 with a stock 24p Raker II (slightly modified by a rock) and 59.7 with a 24p Trophy Plus. I had my Raker fixed and balanced by Mark Croxton, but havent been out with it yet. I hope to see 64 or 65. 62 was with my dad and son and 3/4 tank of gas, empty livewells. I hope to go out with the fixed Raker this week Friday and will let you know how well it runs. Wayne
A N C I P A T I O N ….?????? What happened to the T I ?? Is it still being built like Billius Bay Cat? Sorry – couldnt resist. Maybe its the snow were supposed to get this weekend.
Tom, Try having your Raker balanced. I had mine done by Mark Croxton and Wow what a difference. It pops my boat up as quick or quicker than my Trophy! Mark took a little bit of cup out of the blades and the ride has improved by a lot. It it as smooth as the trophy without any speed loss and gets up on pad easier. I will have to wait for spring to really dial it in, but it is running about 64 mph and smooth as a babys bottom. It even handles the rough water like the Trophy. I think it was some of the best money I have spent having the prop reworked. Let me know if you have any questions – would love to talk and see how your Sabre is doing. Wayne
I have a 334c on the bow of my Sabre FTD and have no issues with it dropping the signal. That may be because it is on a RAM mount and is up a little higher. The 334c hold the signal better than the 520c in the console. Wayne
The logos hold up very well. Mine has been washed a few times and still looks new. Wash in cold water and then hang to dry, do not put in the dryer. This is a great shirt and very comfortable in any weather.
You could live up north were we call that a dusting. Right now my yard has about 8 inches of that stuff.
Check out the Owners Gallery for different color schemes. What colors are you leaning to? You will be amazed at how well some colors will work with each other. Have fun with it and design a 1 of kind Cougar for yourself. Merry Christmas!
Good going Kelly!!!!!
